@Limenode Keep at it man sounds pretty good. I think yours is more sound then mine I could use some harsh criticism to get mine where it needs to be.

@blanx - sounding good. like the switch up at 1.40

@take2 - not to keen on that intro synth tbh, liking the bass/lead though

@limenode -not more fucking katy perry remixes  (seems to be tons about at the minute). tune has a lot of potential, some nice edits in there :D

@budspencertron - nice flute, sub cuts through nicely as well.

@BudSpencertron - Really loving the vibe you've got going on in that. So nice. I reckon it'd be cool if you could drop out into silence a once or twice, just to break things up. I love the subby dropping pitch kick sound in there (you know what I mean). I think maybe some tape delay on a few of the percussion noises would be wicked. Try this tape echo VST: http://rapidshare.com/files/154503032/G ... EMESiS.rar. I've used it on a few of my tunes, and it can really quickly get some amazing sounds.

@lightshapers - Fucking awesome tune man. This is like the stuff PLAY ME releases. Properly professional sounding. Couple things though. I reckon your kick could be a little bigger and harder (I saw you giggle at that). I'm assuming it's a few kick sounds layered on top of each other, but if it isn't, try doing that. Try out using two copies of the same sound and panning them differently. Of course keep the majority of your kick sounds in the center. Also, after the second drop your synth sounds keep dropping out loads, like it did in the first drop, but way more often. I like that you've tried to make the second drop different from the first, but it gets a little hard to keep up with. Instead you could try chucking in more crazy new sounds, drop out the drums so it's just the heavy synths all up in your face at the start and other things like that :) Really looking forward to hearing this tune done.

@jakedubber thanks appreciate the constructive criticism could help to get things more floating, do you mean to go into silence and then come back to the beat with a reverse cymbal or something similar?

@BudSpencertron - Yeah, something like that. I quite like a reverse kick. Has a bit more impact, but is subtler.

Reignz- Did your tune like yesterday, still big.

Did this about an hour ago, trying to decide whether I should cut the intro and start where the music drops out before the drop.

Thoughts on any aspect are appreciated. am aware it needs work :D

Haha, I Robot! The bass pattern at 1:30 is pretty sweet, but I personally think you should throw some other bass sounds in there or patterns just so its not that for the most of the song. And the intro is very long, so maybe have a really long build up with lots of tension rather than just the kick and snare. Just some thoughts.

This is a track I've been working on for sometime. It gets repetitive towards the end but I was just trying to fill up time, I think I'll settle on it being shorter. The idea behind it is that the bass is a monster, as all the samples suggest. Any criticism would be great.

@BudSpencerton Absolutely love this. Simple, but sublime. I like the Eskmo style riser a lot. Imho you could add a second melodic element in the highs to give the song a little more movement and contrast. If done right I think it could add a whole new level of awesome to it.

@Keses I second what Harakiri said. The intro needs a stronger build up, and you most definitely need other basses mixed in there because I was getting tired of that sound after about 30 seconds. Good sound btw, it just doesn't work solo.

@Harakiri It's messy. The sounds in the background don't sit very well with the main basses, and things get muddled. The bass from 2:10, is not very well defined and sounds fairly garbled. That being said, I do like this song. I like the sequencing, the buildups are great, I like the basses; it's some good work. I suggest trimming it a bit for the repetition, and work the shit out of it until it all sits together, sounds clear, and nothing is garbled or lost.

Finished this edit earlier today. I was going for something a little lighter. Tired of all this heavy stuff. Any and all comments are appreciated. How could this be better?

Hi all,

I've been working on ableton since 4 weeks now and I made this track. I basically don't know if it's good so i'm asking you guys! Any tips/comments would be apprecited and if there's anything I can change or make it better, feel free to say what you really think.

It's not masterize at all (i'm still learning how to masterize with ozone) thats why i've put my WIP here.

I'm a bit scare of what you guys think because it's my first track lol and i'm a beginner, anyway hope you'll like it

@ Keses I dig it, though I agree with the others that a shorter intro would do better.
@Harakiri This tune was really moving, it will be really good once you refine it.
@Whisper The eerie feel once the bells kick in is amazing. I don't know how to improve it, as I'm still very new.

Soundcloud

This is my first sequenced piece I've done.
(only gone on my daw and messed with sounds and experimenting with plugins.)
Just kind of throwing it out there to see if you thinks it's worth running with further, and hacking at it for a while.
It's only 8 bars worth of poking and prodding.

@lightshapers - nice little collab. Pretty generic but who cares it still good. The mixdown sounds cool to me as well, nice and punchy

@BudSpencertron - nice melodies and those little sounds definitely are sick. I also like the little change up. I dont really see anything wrong, good work

@ Kes-Es - only complaint is when it drops try to make it have a bigger impact, it doesn't really boom but the synths are sick as hell :D

@HaraKiri - its a cool idea just it sounds messy and somewhat empty. Your basses with the main one just dont mix well. But the idea of the song and sequencing and how its put together is very good.

@NiceGuy - imo higher up your drums. It sounds like your bass is higher then your drums. Also add some grit to your bass, it seems very plain and it could be transformed into something crazy

@tehef9drm - your song sounds muddy as if the bass is way to overpowering on the drums. Maybe make puncier drums and sidechain the kick to the bass to get it more of a clearance space for the drums to breath. Its a cool idea though

@poundcake42 - drum beat is nice and funky but your bass sounds very weird. Maybe from the experimenting but its also light in movement. give the bass some movement and you can get it somewhere.

now for my wip.... this is for the Fuzion and Subvibe contest and its taking again neurofunk basslines into dubstep, something i've been doing all the time recently and so much fun to do, but this is what I have so far.

@manny It's supposed to be plainer, and not crazy. I'll check on the drums, but I don't know how I could spice up the basses without it becoming more gritty then I want it to be.
Also as of my post, the link to your WIP doesn't work.
