fuckin go somewhere else then!

i wouldnt call a percussive hit a stab, thats more of a hit, a stab chord be like a chord stab, like just one hit of a chord, it could be a sampled horn 'hit' just one blast of a horn section, it could be like a bleepy sound, it could be a chopped vocal so that its very staccato. and just put it wherever the fuck you want its your tune, listen to other tunes and see where they put them.
Well thats the fuckin description I was lookin for, jesus christ! :dunce:
Dude... believe it or not wiki can be preeeeettty fucking accurate about this stuff. I suggest using that, not asking us to hold your hand.

You're a big boy, learn to make yoi bass by yourself in the corner.
Douchey reply is douchey.
I'm trying to ask for help from people who make dubstep, it seems like a smart thing to do.

And FYI, I KNOW how to make yahyoi bass 8)

he is right though, if you want to know something search for it, i have never made a thread asking for help, i may have asked a question in a thread, but if i want to know something, and i search and cant find an answer, well im not gonna make a thread about it. its great you know how to make a yoi bass, good for you, but you dont know what a stab is.

go listen to a song you like, and do exactly what they do in that, or get someone else to make the tune for you!

your asking for a tune with a good use of stabs, and before you said that your tune sounds empty compared to ones you like, well listen to a tune that you do like and then see what they do, im not gonna name a tune with good use of stabs cos its not gonna be a filthy dubstep tune that makes you jizz all over our computer, so you wont like it.

The stabs begin at 1:59. 8)

Additionally, welcome to DSF, one of the few places which still encourages their members to think for themselves. Music, much like any other art form, is extremely subjective, and there is no formula for a classic banger.

THIS THIS THIS. Like i said, THIS.

I've been producing for a little while now and I soon realized that practice helps, A LOT. Just listen to ur favorite tunes/artists. Start to listen to what they do, or how they "fill" their tracks. And when I say listen, I mean REALLY listen. You'll start to pick up on things that you may not have noticed before. Try to mimic these techniques and skills and you see progression in no time 8) I've learned that you can't really get an answer for ALL of your questions. Especially on here :a: But if you start to listen and basically study songs on ur own you will answer your problems for yourself! In due time...

You definitely need to add sub bass. Learn how to sculpt your sounds into shape with EQ and add a sub underneath your main basses. Layer up different drum (kicks and snares) samples and EQ them to different ranges, group or route through a bus, and EQ / compress all of them together to taste.

Uhm, okay I guess that helped somewhat. But it doesn't look like DSF is the place for me. I don't believe I'll be coming here very often. Cheers.
My newest track, a great remix to Castles In The Sky by Ian Van Dahl.
