clubs normally already have equipment but to practise get some cdj's or if you can't afford them get a dj controller or something or if you want vinyl get vinyl but in the modern world most clubs have cdj's

Skrillex's live setup is his laptop and an M-Audio Trigger Finger.
I'm pretty sure everything else you see in videos of him playing a club is just stuff they provided for him .

If you're using the phrase "dubstep techno", you ain't at a point where you should even be considering playing live.

either way they shouldnt be used in the same sentence

first get at least 10 songs made that sound good and have recieved psositive feedback, learn mixing, gain structure, and learn your DAW in and out (which you could also dj with if you get to know it good enough), then worry about playing live shows.

:U:

you wanna go live? learn reaktor, write your own setup, combine with midi controllers, ???, TIM EXILE!

or if you're lazy: grab ableton live, write tons of loops, buy launchpad/apc40, assign fx to knobs/faders, perform in a way that makes you sound like everyone else. lego music.

Deadmau5 is not techno. You've never heard techno, let alone produced it.

You're trying to be a purveyor of a culture you know nothing about.

We talking shit like sandstorm and cocaine here?
Yakooza - Cocaine

Darude - Sandstorm

That's what I think of when I think of techno, if your 14 I'm suprised your even aware of this genre

If you mean Deadmau5 I wouldn't even try just put him in one genre least of all techno I'd just say a particular track/remix of his if I was trying to describe his style

Yeah generally people are assholes. But hey, if you love it enough, you'll find your way eventually.

I think what people are trying to say is that seem as though you are completely unknown in the dubstep scene you aren't going to get any gigs for a while and if you do they will be very small scale so to be honest you could turn up with a laptop and a copy of virtual dj and no-one would care..

I think it's fair to say most dubstep producers don't actually play live? Most of them just DJ with some of their own tunes if they do anything. So yeah, basic DJ setup is what you want.
