Someone I know went about 7 months with it for free before Virgin realised and actually cut them off.

Yep, we went for 7 months without paying, and after they cut us off we somehow managed to convince them that it was THEIR fault and they'd better fix it asap. XD
I'd say just ignore it as long as it's working, chances are you won't have to pay anything afterwards (we didn't)

Re: Virgin Media meant to have been cut off...
I had some rep come round today to ask when the next people were moving into our house, and he said we didnt have a cut off sheduled but surely if we signed a 9 month contract its their duty to cut it off after 9 months? I didnt want to ask him in case he checked and went "oh yeah you're meant to have been cut off, say goodbye to months of free tv and internet"
if i have to pay anything ill get my mate to talk to them, he managed to blag us the first 2 months free and then the next 4 months half price when we signed up

about 8 years ago I moved in to a condo in san diego and the cable worked for about a year before it was cut off. The next day I ordered it up legit and wasn't charged a penny. Cancelled it 3 months later and it was left up and operational the last 6 months I lived there
