Got Dedication after only 2 days since ordering. Bleep

EDIT: It's only 35 mintues long, listened to it 4 times through. This is quite something, totally agree with the Fact review about songs being literally snatched from you.

ah man its fucking great...amazing collection of beats, dont think i own anything else quite like it. Would list favourites but would just be the whole tracklist.... definitely an album to sit back and listen to start to finish, no distractions

It really is, I knew after my first full listen through that this is definitely one of 2011s top releases regardless of genre

I like how there is definite sadness in the tracks, especially 'Haunted' - the piano and the bleeps and bloops just work so well. Smashing album, zomby done good

Haha, it's very likely. Instead of calling it "bass music", they'll tar Dedication with the "post dubstep" brush no doubt. I reckon pitchfork will give it no more than 7.5/10

I read the review for this album in Q magazine, I think the first line was..

"After his 2003 debut, 'Where were u in 92?' Zomby blah blah"

they gave it three stars but it was like the guy hadn't even listened to it.

It's annoying... even the sleeve within the CD makes it perfectly clear its a DEDICATION to someone (his father) and that the music is not going to be anything like jungle or whatever. I think if the album was to be reviewed in that context it'd be much fairer. The songs ending abruptly and being taken away could perhaps be likened to Zomby's father dying? idk, I like the LP a lot

It's a very very good album and given just how badly Pitchfork reviewed 2562's Fever I think Zomby did alright

he is gonna be on the cover of the wire this month. If their Burial feature a few years back was anything to go by then it should be an excellent read.

i may be wrong but i thought the wire has always been a uk mag, my dad used to buy it when i was a kid, he's still got the one with so solid crew in it.

Yup its a uk mag. Pretty big publication, available from WHS.

Great mag if you have eclectic tastes. Everything from Kode9, richie hawtin features to crazy free jazz and performance.

Yep its a UK mag but you can get it at pretty much all good music shops all over the world.
I have a monthly subscription and I live in the Netherlands. Fantastic magazine of you ask me, didn't know Zomby was getting a feature though. Looking forward!
I've got the copy with the Burial interview in it as well which I read every now and then and it's a great read indeed.
