Re: Where has Loefah been?
He's constantly doing bookings as far as I can tell. And yeah...sorting Swamp stuff.
He really does need to be less critical of his own productions...even ones he thinks aren't worth releasing are a million times better than anyone elses. He could probably sit there and record him hitting the table, playing a spoon and humming basslines and it'd releasable.

I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn
Re: Where has Loefah been?
yeah, he was pretty hard on himself in part of that interview i thought. said it was hard for him to feel relevant in a scene that was changing so much. i'd say he's been one of the most relevant players for 6+ yearsherbalicious wrote:He's constantly doing bookings as far as I can tell. But what was this about him planning on releasing an EP on DMZ again by the end of the year? I remember him saying that...Promise One wrote:He still writes tunes just doesn't release anymore. You might find this interesting:
And yes, he should indeed be less critical on his tunes. Didn't he say in the Blackdown interview with him and Kryptic Minds that he doesn't like Disko Rekah at all and regrets releasing it? Madness...

Was funny seeing him doing a bump behind the decks as he dropped Sico cell at Fabric the other week.
Goat stare is easily one of my all time favorite tunes. Defines proper sub bass for me. That and the Kode9 remix of Fat Larrys Skank.

Re: Where has Loefah been?
seems like my man got bored of writing the best halfstep tracks with the deepest basslines... he always pushed the boundaries at the time from what I've gathered, just a shame some of his best material was never released.
i dont like the vast majority of that swamp stuff because (to me and very few others apparently) it sounds like cheap bait old house sounds recycled more times than not, but respect to loefah for doing his ting, as much of a cliché as that sounds

To be honest when I lost my confidence it was the middle of 2007. I started writing tunes like “Disco Wrekka.” I think that’s utter bullshit that tune. Terrible.

Re: Where has Loefah been?
Judging by the interview video I posted it didn't seem like he had any interest in releasing his own stuff anymore. Let me be wrong.vishes wrote:But what was this about him planning on releasing an EP on DMZ again by the end of the year? Yeah, till this day I still see where he comes from with his thoughts on Disko Rekah.
Re: Where has Loefah been?
Disko Rekah is sick but not a patch on Woman or Midnight.
He must still see some musical value in those two at least?!

Do Loefah and The Bug still put on those Lovers Rock nights?
