alright im gonna say this and leave it: These thugs are taking this drug, because of their circumstance, of being impoverished and in bad families and whateverthefuck their problem is. But really, is a solution to these problems to take a life threatening drug to get high and escape the problem? no its fucking not a solution. I was more so referring to you saying "a segment of the population" when hardship and trouble plague a large portion of south africans. You think distribution of wealth is fucked here? It's wayyyyyyyyyyyyy worse in Africa. Apartheid isn't that far removed.... unemployment is still at 25%, blacks it's closer to 40%. Racism and discrimination is rampant and blatant.

You're suggesting these people should have not only options but an understanding of how to capitalize and thrive with those options. You either don't understand the history of south africa or you're blatantly ignoring it (which stinks of racist undertones). Most adults in South Africa were born under Apartheid.

I can't force you to understand history if you have no desire to understand the world you live in.

I grew up in the hood and have routed against lazy fucking americans on this forum in the past because we are actually given the opportunities. We have free education, we have welfare programs, we have medicare/medicaid. Our worst conditions in the US don't hold a candle to the situations in Africa.

These people are not given opportunity. Comparing them to your knowledge base without studying or visiting the country is a pretty uneducated argument.
