i record alot of my beats through my Teac A-3440S Reel-to-reel four track. gives it a nice analog warmth

Like you get the nice 50khz response, and the ability to have real tape saturation and the tape coloration... but you're fucking crazy man.

yeah it can be quite tedious, as it hard pans everything thing to the left and right, so i record into it and then record off of it into my computer to lay all the tracks together. but it's great for say recording with the fast tape and then playing it back slower.
it's also a beautiful machine so i love toying around with it. when i have the time that is haha

I run mine through an Akai cassette deck using high bias metal tapes.

When you smash your beats into the red onto the tape they sound massive!

Waldorf Pulse was my 1st analog piece - still gets used once in a while.

Also have an old Akai VX-90 which is good for pads big leads. Sounds a bit weak but after processing sounds wicked usually.

Just invested in a modular ... which I been wanting for years. Got mine from Analogue Systems and Analogue Solutions - 2 osc. filter, vca, env for the moment... gonna add some more when I got more cash.

And boy ... I been drooling over the Cyndustries Zeroscillator for a few weeks now. Too sick.

I've just read the Evolver has some (lot of) latency when using on a computer. What you reckon?

Is there anything recent (=can find it in shops) that sounds like a SH-101?

I wouldnt bother doing the midi thing with it. Just make some sick bass and sample it.

Never had latency issues with the Evolver myself. Sometimes the sequencer goes *slightly* off from midi clock but not that noticeable.
