i actually watched Robin Hood yesterday and it was exceptionally shit

gona give this a go
well the emphasis isn't particularly on the story and it definitely isn't the best history lesson but the action is gritty and gory, quite refreshing to watch every now and then. Also has some great actors in it, notably Brian Cox and Paul Giamatti who both never fail to deliver.

^^Why can I never see your images?!? :u:

The Big Heat

I like film noir but this was kinda swag tbh. Plot was basic, characters were two dimensional and the lines were a bit shit too.
Highlight was the cop's misses getin blown up in a car bomb that was meant for him. LOL! Yeah, i'm twisted like that....
Still, Gloria Grahame is peng (until she gets deformed when Lee Marvin burns half her face off with hot coffee..... I know, aggy for a 50's film!!)
Image
5/10 (the film not Gloria)

Ghost Dog - I really liked this one. A relatively simplistic representation of the Hagakure but it's perfectly executed. This is clearly a homage to 'Le Samourai' but that shouldn't put you off watching it. Homage not remake.
It's very surreal in places (mob boss doing an impression of an elk) but, imo, this is just a representation of the often surreal nature of a warriors path.
(This film has been torn apart for samples, most notably in '7 Breaths' by Tunnage)
9/10

The mob boss doing an impression of an elk, I wanna say it's a reference to the same actor playing an animal tracker (or something) in the movie Alligator as he does a fair few animal impersonations in that, but I'm probably wrong.

^^Ah fair enough, you might be right there. Still, doesn't detract from the surrealism of that moment and others like it in the film.
Bottom line, Ghost Dog is a sick film! :D

The Tunnel
was decent, but the concept of it being released for free first on torrent and funded via merch from the movie like film frames is even cooler

I just watched the Terminator for the first time...

..and then it ruined a perfectly good dinner at the cuban restaurant,
because It got me into an argument about the linear nature of time vs. change...

and I was accused of being a stuck up because I was using "mathematical terms" that no one else understood..

=/
i bet y'all are late on catching the hermetic allegory in every episode - parsons..?

Ghost Dog is sooooo good, watched it for the first time the other night. Love the fairly subtle surrealist tone of it, the boat on the roof being a great scene.
also, i this for me was more notable than 7 breaths ;)

Completely forgot about that one, 64hz. How could I?!?
In my defense, I did say it's been torn apart for samples....
