New York based dubstep label TUBA, mean little sister to the mighty Dubs Alive imprint, are pleased to announce this brand new 3 track release featuring J:Kenzo’s epic “Nocturnal Feelings”
J:Kenzo “Nocturnal Feelings” J:Kenzo was born and raised in Kent, where he was influenced by the sounds of both Jungle and Garage. He started out as a DJ in the 90s, and in 2005 was introduced to the emerging dubstep scene, making his production debut in 2007 on his own Soul Shakerz label with a release entitled ‘Tekno Bass’. His tracks have been played out by Caspa and Skream among others. “Nocturnal Feelings”, as its name suggests, is a dark, liquidy exploration of the boundaries of deep dubstep, with histrionic percussion, hard basslines and scintillating atmosphere. An unmissable track from the sought-after UK DJ/Producer.
The Spit Brothers “Beg To Differ” Making their vinyl debut, The Spit Brothers “Beg To Differ” is a minimalistic track driven by meditative, shamanistic sub, and live instrumentals that conjure an gamalan orchestra in a tropical jungle. The innovative US trio produce and perform as a live bass collective who have electrified audiences all over the world. Recently included in San Francisco Weekly’s Best Dubstep Ambassadors, they opened for Tinie Tempah at the prestigious Webster Hall in March this year.
DJG “Beg To Differ” (DJG Remix) Hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dean J. Grenier A.K.A DJG landed in the world of Dubstep in 2007 with his first 12” “Shadow Skanking” b/w “Joyful Sound” on Narco.Hz. With support coming in fast from Rinse FM and world-class DJ’s such as N-Type, Mary Anne Hobbs, Skream, Headhunter and Pinch, propelled DJG to the forefront of American dubstep producers early in his career. Known for his is richly melodic and emotive production style, full of groove and energy, DJG was recognized early on for a more dubwise sound. Recent productions have revealed an evolution in his music, getting deeper into bass-heavy, tech-drenched, soulful tracks, and this reformat of The Spit Brother’s “Beg To Differ” is a portentous showcase of the producer’s intelligent approach to bass music, balancing depth and danceability.
