i think it deserves it own thread, get some preset swaps going, tips and tricks, this little thing is a beast. at a first glance it doesn't look much more then something really basic until you really fiddle and ive had it for all of 20 minutes haha

I mainly use massive, as it has loads of options to modulate and shape the sound, is easy to use and gets nasty sounds pretty quick. i've recently tried subboombass and its good fun, again gets some meaty basses quickly. ni razor is also good fun, but a bit of a pain to work with(you have to remember to save the preset else its gone next time you load up your project).

to be honest tho, pretty much any synth will give you a good bass with the right settings. a saw wave or square wave already has a lot of harmonics, with a bit of processing you have a totally different sound.

feed me who is spor uses zeta a lot and I know he uses massive once in a while but IMO massive is a go to for me cause it's very easy to learn and with good amount of knowledge you won't sound like a cookie cutter producer. fm8 is cool but it takes longer to get what you want achieve but more in detail and reaktor I also use cause it's downright amazing. but overall massive cause of how easy the workflow is in that program

but remeber this. you can use any synth to make a certain sound

referencing a previous poster, based on your sound design abilities you can really make any type of sound you want with samplers, 3xosc, etc. I remember reading (possibly here) a producer q&a for Reso and he said that he pretty much makes everything from scratch using logic's built in instruments, from watching a producer masterclass vid and he was using massive

when i first started out with dub i did alot of basslines with albino3 mostly using the 5 stage envelope to get some interesting sounds but now i mostly use massive because it has so many built in soundwaves that you can get close to any synth your trying to make with just the basic soundforms. Right now im tryin to get back to learning albino3 and blue because all of the sudden massive and fm8 started crashing ableton and ive tried deleting the config files/rebuilding the library and deleting the preferences for ableton but to no avail. Guess i gotta start savin up for that HamVST everyone has been ranting and raving about

Yeah it's a good all rounder and has a more dark and wide sound than the andy and voyager which is perfect for basslines. The andy does do the meanest reece though, 32 analogue oscillators oh dear and the moog just sounds fat as is.

to be honest, i really love FLs built-in synths. layering up 3 instances of 3xosc sounds really fat! and for crazy fm sounds, sytrus is where it's at for me.
