making wobbles on fl9?

Post by swoggles » Thu Jul 21, 2011 9:52 pm

im using sytrus and trying to get the hang of the 3xosc,i have made a few but they are all fairly similar sounding. i havent got bit crusher or massive though,is it possible to achieve similar results using only sytrus and the 3xosc or am i out of luck? i tried using the osc on the operators of sytrus, makes it metallicky sounding but makes it quiet,i am also trying to use the vocodex vst. I no its all about trial and error but can anyone point me in some sort of direction???
cheers

Put it in your vst folder, and rescan your vst list ;-)

1. Get a bitcrusher man.

2. any sound you can make on massive can be made in 3xosc or sytrus. it might be more difficult on those synths, but it still can be done and you are not out of luck.
...in my opinion

Sytrus is fuckin easy to make wobbles dude, just fiddle with knobs until you get it.

Also, bitcrushers are free, just download CMT Bitcrusher. Google it.

it will be impossible to get the quality of massive when using sytrus or 3xosc. but in sytrus to get a basic wobble open up the electric preset for bass, root the 1st osc trhough filter one and modulate the cutoff of filter one. theres plenty of tutorials. it wont be able to get near the customization and quality and advanced nature of massive though.. not even close

this
is a lie

ive been practicing alot with fm synthesis as of late

Soundcloud

is sytrus with 0 effects and only 3 operators going
endless possibilities are endless

my word to OP, start with 3xosc its alot easier to grasp then move to sytrus. for me alot of stuff just recently started clicking and ive ran 3xosc into the ground exp knob whore etc. theres some awesome info on fm synthesis on the forum as well gl

You can use whatever sound you like for wobbles, as long as it is a low/mid oriented sound. The wobble comes from a LFO, low frequency oscillator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low-frequency_oscillation

It can be quite hard making an LFO to sound good in 3xOsc or Sytrus. When i used FL i HATED it! I'd recommend you getting Sugarbytes WOW filter. :) It's an awesome plugin for filtering your sound and awesome as a LFO, and it comes with many cool presets. Kickass plugin, wouldn't survive without it! xD

@Lectric if anything, Sytrus has far more customization and advanced nature than massive does.

3xosc is a super powerful synth and I don't even own fl and I know this. Many big artist have used it in there productions for example teknian, spor(feed me), int company and many more people. many Russian neurofunk artist use 3xosc like it's a godsend. so yes you can make wobbles, reeses, etc in fl. All you need is to have a great understanding of synthesis and you can use any synth any DAW to make some sounds :D

I wanted to show you how Sytrus can do wobbles awesomely. This is just me fucking around (I know what I'm doing, but I'm not really trying to do anything. I'm just fiddling with knobs.).

Soundcloud
And I put a sub under it. No effects either, whether it be from Sytrus or external effects.

yea fuck that sytrus is the bomb diggity, 3xosc is my shit to pretty much ran it into the ground using it making different sounds and you can load custom waves into it making it even more versatile, and i know personally i havent even tipped the ice berg.
