After almost a year of battling with the idea.. I've finally decided to start writing an LP.
Already got about 5-6 rough drafts of tracks which will be perfect for it but as
some of you might know - i'm quite a conceptional writer and only release EPs which all have some underlined meaning, idea, concept or flow - its time for me to take that from 3-6 tracks to write a 8-12 track album.
A daunting but interesting task

!
Wish me luck

!

So whos wrote an album or tried too?

Why would you? This can become a thread discussing writing albums quite easily if people decide to take it in that direction...
I haven't asked a question - ive created a discussion.
Edited main post to save tears.

glad to hear it man good luck! im also in the process of writing a free summer album. it will be the first ive ever done and the music is just perfect for summer time. I also like the idea of an album/ep having a certain flow and thats why ive decided to put this album out now all the songs just give off a vibe off summer and right now i need some of that in the car!

good luck, man - looking forward to hearing it! i'm big into albums/eps that have a flow or core concept guiding them. haven't tried to make an album yet (i don't know nearly enough/have enough experience to take that on) but it's definitely a goal of mine. i put out my first ep a few months ago and i really tried to get a coherent concept going with it. dunno if it ended up working for the listener but it was really fun and i learned a shitload from it so i think it's a great process no matter what comes out. post some samples when you get some done!

No need to say good luck

I know you'll get it done

Big man, but 12 sounds a bit stingy to me

MOAR CHIUUUNSZS
I tried once, just a free download thing, then it occured to me that I don't have enough followers on soundcloud to even bother with that shit, so I just gave them as individual freebies, would keep going, but my soundcloud is full
Do you say
zerbaman? Or do you say
zebraman?

good luck man! i really hope you're gonna end up with a flowing result. what kind of concepts do you use? abstract or more practical?
once i get the hang of actually finishing tracks (only a matter of discipline/determination as my production skills are good enough for my own standards, fuck comparing myself to established acts) i'll start moving on to concept-based stuff and hopefully an album one day.
i already have vague ideas, it's probably gonna be not only tracks that flow into each other and work as parts of a greater whole but an actual mix of the tunes i wrote for the album.
