The New Freeware Thread.

Post by 3za » Fri Jul 22, 2011 2:33 am

I have seen the same old freeware is always mentioned, but I already got that stuff, I want to try new stuff. So I think it would be a good idea to have a place to find out/ talk about them (I know there is KVR Audio, but I like this site :w: ).

Now I will start;

Zebralette
Lite version of Zebra, a sick power synth if you don't already know.

OP-X FREE
Lite version of OP-X Pro, a emulation of a OB-X; http://www.vintagesynth.com/oberheim/obx.php

TYRELL Nexus 6
German???

Monoklon
Monotron clone

(Few other bits on that page look tasty aswell.)

Anubis

What you guys, and girls think of any of these then?

When you see a new bit of freeware you think we might like, post in the format I have in this thread (they don't have to be synths, or VST's, and I will add it in the OP. Remember to only post newer stuff, take your synth1, and db glitch else were please.

This. However I have a rule about not downloading VSTS. I used to gather millions of different synths and effects before I realised I was better off just using Alchemy/Ableton native plugs. Too many cooks and all that. They do look good though if someone is just starting out and has no dolla.

Sadly, this is my way of thinking too. Still not fully got my head around Morpheus before I start grabbing other bits :?

There is definitely some promising new freeware things out there. But Im with Par & Wub right now... mastering z3ta+ and only using reaper natives and variety of sound plugs.

I think most of us seem to have reached the limit of our vst collections.
I still go for some new vst but end up settling on my go to synths.
I also find myself using most of Reapers Native effects.

I understand that, but I feel that a new VST, can spice things up, and make you come up with something you wouldn't of ever come up with. I stick to my power synths/effects, but I do like something new to play with ever now, and again.
