New to dubstep!

Post by GunpreetSingh » Sat Jul 23, 2011 11:15 am

Hiya all, First post over here. My name's Gunpreet, I'm 15. It's been a while since I started listening to dubstep and had this sudden urge to create some of my own. So, I've started seeing some tutorials and have made 2 tryouts so far! Please do comment and tip me. Your feedbacks are most welcome!

Have fun!

Software used for making these was FL Studio 9.

More tracks coming soon, please do comment!

P.S.: I don't really have any FX and kicks, drums etc. for making Dubstep, so I used stock sounds, And I really can't find any, would be amazing if you helped me out!

Thanks,
Gunpreet.

Theres some interesting stuff going on in your songs, especially the second one. I think the mixes are all very one tone at the surface- experiment with putting in some lower frequencies, such as a sub bass below your normal bass aswell as maybe some effects at the back reverbed to give it more depth.

Thanks so much for reply!
Yes, I know they're going the same tone, I don't have that "musical" ear, so I can't really make a melody of sorts, but I have little knowledge.

Thanks for the samples too :4:
But I found out their mostly breaks which I don't really know how to use :|
Maybe you could help me with that,
But the drum kits are nice!

Thanks so much again!
Gunpreet.

keep practicing and define your sound. some cool sounds going on in there. i think some good advice is that, as you mess with sounds, develop your own plot & try not to forget about any aspect of your track when producing it. my problem has always been my drums, making sure they are interesting keeps a track looping nicely. check out my tune mate, feel free to subscribe to my youtube channel .com/sytrussurtys
using my tune as a bit of a promotion gag haha. only looking for about 60 subscriptions [:
