Germany's man-of-the-moment - Twisted from the Dutty Dubz Crew - graces Tsunami Audio with the Blackout EP... and it certainly is dutty. 4 tracks to feed your fix, these bangers are just what the doctor ordered. We start off with the title tune 'Blackout' which uses intricate and sophisticated percussion to underscore a fierce mid-bassline that drills itself relentlessly into your brain. 'Not One Of Us' featuring Markie J follows and keeps up the pressure - a huge tune and credit to Markie J for straddling the line between simply a vocal sample and the trap that most MCs fall into, which is trying to do too much! These two have been working together for some time and the result is a balanced track with great atmospheric buildup and devastating mid-bass which tears up the dancefloor and rocks the car/iPod at the same time. Let's get grimey! 'Fear' is a first-class stomper, old-skool but at the same time fresh and crunchy as a new bag of crisps! Rounding things out, up-and-comer Depone remixes 'Rock This', a track from the inaugural Tsunami Audio release, and does it more than justice utilizing a writhing, infectious mid-bassline but keeping the vibe and percussive action of the original intact.
