Can I call this 'Dubstep' ?
Hi, everyone. This is my first topic on this forum.
I made a REMIX song that is originaly made by Japanese indie idol.
And It's almost Jazz flavor, but not all.
I feel that it sounds like Dubstep,
but I don't really know about that stuff.
So, people.
How are you feeling this?
And can I call this 'Dubstep' or not?

Not dubstep, but a cute remix nonetheless.

And especially, the synth base moving up and down gives me the feeling of dubstep ...
Is this, by chance, a mistaken idea? lol
My remix has no such things like Cut-ups or Loops as the example you shew me up here.
That sound is the icon of the Dubsteps right?
Re: Can I call this 'Dubstep' ?
The sound of dubstep is broken beats 140 bpm, often with the drums in half time, with an emphasis on bass and drums. Dubstep draws a lot of influence from dub reggae, and this shows up not only in the bass and drum aspect, but in the liberal use of delay and reverb. It can be dark, light, funky, deep, hard, soft, happy or sad. Or anything, you know.

Domo-Arigato! Bresson and AnomiK!
You guys are good teachers for me. lol
So, Dubstep has to do with UK garage (or 2step) right?
I can make a sense little by little...
And a... Dubstep seemed to be The Native Dub Reggae Sound
getting huge DTM technology... don't you think so?
( Perhaps, I have no right to ask such questions to you great guys,
cause I'm Japanese... lol)

This thread reminds me of the badly translated pirated Pokemon Silver ROM I had back in the day.

Naan Bread-san, you'll be my English teacher, and I'll be your Japanese teacher.
Thank you for posting a photo, Mr Hyde!
But, everyone makes a dubstep by using a computer first,
then brings it to a club or somewhere right?
is there a improvised dubstep in a club too?

Filth is the opposite of what you're looking for, whatever you're looking for.
