BPM Counting Software!?!?!

Post by conundrum » Thu Jul 28, 2011 8:22 pm

I need help with finding software for Mac that counts BPM of tracks WITHOUT tapping, does such a program exist? I have ableton already so the tap function of widget or any of the others I have found is useless to me. I can figure out the bpm of tracks through reading soundwaves in ableton quite nicely, not to mention Im usually always inaccurate with the tap function when dealing with really broken all over the map beats anyway. Bascically I need a way of being able to get an accurate bpm/tempo of acapella tracks which have no beats to tap! Any help or suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated!! Thx!

Yeah I am familar with that I suppose if it comes down to it I could maybe just get a demo version for free that should still read BPM's no? I know serato does it too, but someone just told me about a freeware called pistonsoft. Its a stand alone bpm counter, Im going to give it a go first. Thanks for tip!

ableton tells you the bpm, ya dingus! drop the clip in an audio track and look at the bpm...if you can't figure that out virtual dj works pretty well most of the time. there's also some standalone software like

first off I have dropped tracks into ableton before and the warp markers are so fucked that its hardly accurate. but I'll give it a go again and see what you mean, I have found stand alone program called mixmeister bpm analyzer, and a itunes plug in called dekstasy.

Well, I'm assuming the acapella comes from a track that originally had a beat. Find the BPM of that.

this, basically... though acapellas are often warped. put the acapella over the original track and see if they match
