Did you actually water damage it? Or were you told it was water damaged? Phone companies and shops etc will say its water damaged because that voids most insurances. If you dont remeber it getting wet then they are just trying to mug you off! Pro tip.

I was at a music festival at the start of this month and foolishly took my phone. It was pissing it down, so the water damage story makes sense. The salesman who told me it was water damaged was also the guy I bought it from in the first place, he didn't seem like the kind of guy that'd fuck me around. Apple, conveniently, don't cover water damage but I did insure it through my bank so I should be able to sort something out with them.
