Re: Resampling is not the answer.
I don't really resample my basses, simply because I don't really do a lot of big mid range stuff to save cpu on, or that might warrant multiple renderings with added distortion and such. Personally I like to resample my pads the most, mainly for stretching purposes. I love that droning airy sound of a pad when it's stretched, so I tend to do that a lot.
I also prefer not to resample just because when I do, I feel stuck with something. Like once I do it I have to use it, and make it work. I much prefer the control I have with the midi pattern and the synth. A lot of times I tend to end up not liking a sound after awhile and having the synth makes it much easier to keep the effects of the sound that I like, but quickly manipulate the actual sound to get the necessary changes I'm looking for.

I have to agree with Kes-Es on this one ladies and gentlemen.
He's not saying that resampling is useless at all. He is sharing with you people that you shouldn't expect to bounce a crappy sound and expect it to sound good as a wav because that won't happen.

When I said I stuck it in Reaktor and played about with the controls thats literally what I did, I didn't even know what a lot of them did, just get any mixed up sound at all and stick it in Metaphysical in Reaktor almost guaranteed results, when I'm doing that its just me sitting there going "Lets see what this nob does?"-[2]DAY_- wrote:darigan wrote:sample manipulation ensemble in Reaktor![]()
Really need to be getting on with learning this instrument. I didn't know it did such things.

Re: Resampling is not the answer.
i resample and so forth when chipping wavecycles. i do this for certain remix competitions and other things where all my stuff needs to be royalty free. unfortunately not all my vsti's are paid for at this moment so when it comes to stuff like this i either mess with wavecycles or use a free vsti and then add plenty effects & resample etc. its tru that a lot of synths are underestimated and are powerful enough to design any sound, but in my position im sometimes forced to rely purely on effects.

Re: Resampling is not the answer.
also i understand the OPs frustration on ni massive being the holy grail on brosteppy production.. there are free vsti's out there capable of making some insane messed up sounds lol, Oatmeal being one of them. just abuse different synths and ul b surprised with the outcome on some!
Re: Resampling is not the answer.
I want to add that if I resample, I only do it to fuck around and mess with shit and experiment. Or I do it to clean up my workspace so I don't have a ton of shit set up just for one sound.
