I would listen to the Burial and Kode 9 Mix for Mary Anne Hobbs's final BBC show. It has some great garage tracks and gives you a good starting point for some names that may help you find the vibe that they try to carry. Also, I would listen to just, like, El-B to be honest, more than any of the other names mentioned. You can tell that El-B's sound definitely was hugely influential on Burial and his tracks.
