the thing about conspiracy is that you cant get yourself caught up in it. Im sure theres all kinds of disinformation campaigns set to trail these people in whichever direction just because the conspiracy theorists will pretty much follow any trail.

Although a lot of conspiracy branded stuff is indeed often self projected and reinforced by others susceptible to it, it doesnt mean that you can instantly dismiss the validity of a lot of the 'bad' stuff that is happening and is being covered up and labeled as conspiracy.

It's way too easy for people to just reach for the 'delusional' stamp 'if someone mentions anything conspiracy related. Just cos a lot of people seem paranoid, doesn't mean they don't have reason to be. even if the logic that got them there is misplaced. in some cases, but not all, dedicating large ammounts of time into researching and reinforcing the anti conspiracy route is exactly the same kind of distraction conspiracy theorist is hunting.

Either way, i think both the people engulfed in conspiracy, and the people that swear blindly that 'its all in your head, man' should spend their energy more effetcively, and gain a better perspective on the appalling things that happen virtually right in front us, every day.

It's odd (maybe not) how conspiracy gains more popularity than the clear injustices that exist pretty much unclouded.

What are we gonna do about it though?.. Talk about it on the internet some more and try to validate our own opinions and hope it all works out

Because conspiracy nuts would rather persuade themselves they're fighting some pivotal war on the internet by "educating" and spouting their bullshit to other receptive idiots, and because doing so is easier than joining say, the Peace Corps and actually doing something to help people in need.

Its religious focused because this is a religious group of people whose deity is the devil.

This is what completely confounds me every time someone talks about religions.

Pretty much every current religion has a mutual exclusivity clause, which means that anyone following the other religion is actually following the devil, or some version of the devil. I am always completely taken back when people try to explain that "my god is the real god, they are tricked by the devil", given that at least as many people believe in a different god. If you look at it objectively, anyone who follows a religion with a mutual exclusivity clause is quite conceited, as they believe that what they feel is true, while what others feel is actually a trick. I can promise you that when you are praising Jesus Christ you get the exact same feeling as the guy worshipping Allah or the guy meditating on Buddha.

Spirituality, yeah that's possible. But black and white, good and evil, are completely man made entities. We have a desire for this idea of ultimate justice in the world, mostly as a coping method because the world isn't fair. But in the end it's just a man made sense of justice. Nothing more.

having being a part of the local scene and being a member on hiphop forums for over 10 years I have seen this type of conspiracy shit is prevalent in these communities. 2pac really brought these theories to life for the current generation.

most hiphop music comes out of the poorest and least educated population in the country. combined with the fact that most of them are religious, it probably feels like to many of them that they are being purposefully manipulated (which they are, just not by some satanic secret cabal).

Actually, it seems more likely that they are differences in the effects between certain spiritual practices for the practitioner, e.g. there's more than 1 kind of meditation ('mindfulness' ala Buddhism is different to 'mysticism' ala Sufi and Qabbalah etc), but you're right that the exclusivity thing is silly and just downright bigoted (Suzuki Shunryu, Zen master, said that Buddhism is compatible with religion like Christianity but religion narrows your view of the world so it's better, as I understood it, to be pragmatic in your beliefs)

I liked the films because they made people question what they've been told, but the films themselves should also be questioned. Being basically a 1 man team with zero funding for research and fact checking, it's no surprise there's inaccuracies really. I'm sure there are just as many 1 + hour videos that try to debunk evolution, and of course there will be inaccuracies in any documentary no doubt, especially when only one person is doing the research. But totally dismissing the video because of what you read on conspiracy.com or a thread on some forum, is a little absurd.
