Yeah its still there; in that industrial area right next to the Coronado bridge. I guess they had all kinds of looters rumaging around inside for copper wire at one point. Maybe we could put one of these derelict buildings to use for a dubstep dance party.

Managed to bunk on to this when it had been closed to the public for some time - Brighton West Pier

Image

Was the home to thousands of starlings that used to swoop down like some kind of wierd avian brownian motion swirl. The inside of the building still had quite a lot of tatty but still visible old 1920's styling inside.

Then there was a storm

Image

Which made it look like giant insects crawling out of the sea, and then an arson attack

Image

Which left it looking like this

Image

Not strictly urban but definitely pretty sharp decay
Hmm....

We've still got the Brighton (formerly Palace) pier, but that's just a tourist shithole to be honest - amusements, pubs, shite food and a few fairground rides.

Really miss the starlings, something very tranquil about watching them assemble in the sky and then float and drift until they returned home.
Hmm....

yeah hehe, we noticed that. we were tempted to jump the fence and look around anyway, but it looked pretty dangerous, with the concrete chunks hanging from twisted rebar 4 stories over our heads!

we ended up going to the old police station near seaport village... and we go caught! the cops cuffed us and held us for like 20 minutes. we spent the rest of the day driving around looking at graff yards. it was a fun day, got some photos too, but i gotta get 'em developed still (shit disposable camera :D)

apparently trespassing in california is an arrestable offense... most states you get a fine. go figure!

shit man, how'd you get caught?
Have you seen that old soviet submarine over by the star of india? Its a traveling mueseum now and some parts are closed to the public. Curiousity got the best of me so I went exploring on my own and got my head smashed between a hatch lid and seal.

some valet saw us and told the cops im guessin. the cops were suprisingly cool tho, especially since me and my friend have these beards like we're terrorists or something :P

when they let us go they were all like "thanks for letting us reminisce!"...since one of the cops used to work at the station we had infiltrated.

i cant wait to get the pics developed, theres bound to be some good ones!

that sub looks dope tho. i think im more down with live buildings than with abandoned ones... :D
