So is it actually necessary to follow people or should I just comment them? Oh they can see that I'm following them though right? I guess that would be of benefit?
Is there a way to favourite you ninjas or something so I don't have to wade through all the shit I'll surely amass?
Gonna go on a mad commenting spree in a sec.

Sunk, i would follow and comment people, for two reasons:

1. a lot of people will automatically follow you back, and it shows you care.
2. the dashboard is a great way to have a constant list of updates you can read and comment on

as far as bookmarking the ninjas, try a browser add-on like Morning Coffee for Firefox and Daily Links for Chrome, or just add them in your browser bookmarks, or you can just run through the list in the OP

I just changed my blogs layout (using some template they had) and now all my ad's don't show up? Do my ads show up if you visit my blog? Has anyone else had this issue?

yeah i'm not seeing ads on your page, which is doubly weird because i don't see anything wrong when I highlighted the element...

Got it figured out. For some reason, I just hadn't put in my payment info, thus my ad's went away. Then I had to make new codes

Re the following. I might suggest to you chappies that are just getting started, to start a general interest blog if you want to make money selling advertisements. Honestly, if you blog about tits or fuzzy animals you will get tuns of impressions/comments/hopefully clicks. If you're some nerd writing about a subject 90% of your followers know nothing about... true support is going to be hard to come by.

I'm very seriously considering a second general interest blog. I love writing about titties, so shouldn't be a stretch.

Good advice! Newcomers should definitely listen... i thankfully talk about music, which everyone has an opinion on... but the joke pictures and women really do draw the crowds... it's the internet after all.

A word of warning:
When it comes to blogging about women and their womenly parts, be careful. Anything that can be deemed as remotely pornographic can be flagged as such, and the goog will disable your adsense, citing the terms and conditions. Err on the side of caution when it comes to dealing with things of a sexual nature.

I went on a comment spree of only around 15 people last night...

Got 4 followers from that - so it isn't a hard grind even though my blogs not every general interest.

Yeah I was debating this as well. My blog's in pretty deep waters but I'm gonna try to just post music I like and reviews that appeal to the general listener.
Was also considering starting a keyword slut blog though. Photoshop some photos of the iPhone 6 or something

Speaking of monet, I could use a few clicks, my CTR's at 1%
Oh yeah, I also just posted another article, check it out nigs

Btw, back in town. Will be setting up my bookmarks folder, so will get super regular and militant with my reading/commenting. I'm also going to push hard on my readership. I'm close to 100 followers now, I wanna be over 200 in a couple of weeks. I really need to decide if I'm going to bite the bullet and start that second blog. Hopefully I'll have a decision by tomorrow morning.

has more to do with the way you express your topic, than the topic itself... draw the reader in. if you want to do SEO and all that that's up to you, but doing things naturally does work, if you don't mind the tedious effort behind it.

keep up the comments and the interactions and the ctr will take care of itself.

Been trying to find related music blogs and grab followers from them as they'd probably have similar interests.

It's kind of becoming more clear to me now. It's like a facebook poke war, you comment them, they comment back, it hopefully continues into infinity. Just a matter of getting it going initially and finding people that are actually active.
