I felt pretty much the same way. Also the fight scene is just derp. It doesn't really end properly either. I think the problem is with trying to create tension around a pill that makes you better at everything doesnt quite work. Me and my pals were immediately just like "why is he doing this, why is he doing that, why is he not at least employing a chemist to work out the structural formula of this shit...?".firky wrote:
Starts off really good and full or promise then just sort of wanders off. It's then not sure if it's a love story, a tale of redemption or what, before finally meandering upon the end. Somewhat awkwardly. Good film but it sort of falls about about two thirds of the way though.

Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel

forgot how good it is. For a brainless 90s action thriller of course
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel

Brilliant. Watching him and Prost take each other out two years in a row at Suzuka is one of my earliest TV memories and his death was the first time I bawled at a sporting event that wasn't England being knocked out of the World Cup.

The new apes film is pretty ace.
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
yea i saw the apes movie yesterday and liked it, way better than that miserable remake that came out a few years ago

Just watched this last night... sick film!aspect-dubz wrote:64hz wrote:Ghost Dog is sooooo good, watched it for the first time the other night. Love the fairly subtle surrealist tone of it, the boat on the roof being a great scene.kingldub wrote:cityzen wrote:
Ghost Dog - I really liked this one. A relatively simplistic representation of the Hagakure but it's perfectly executed. This is clearly a homage to 'Le Samourai' but that shouldn't put you off watching it. Homage not remake.
It's very surreal in places (mob boss doing an impression of an elk) but, imo, this is just a representation of the often surreal nature of a warriors path.
(This film has been torn apart for samples, most notably in '7 Breaths' by Tunnage)
9/10
The mob boss doing an impression of an elk, I wanna say it's a reference to the same actor playing an animal tracker (or something) in the movie Alligator as he does a fair few animal impersonations in that, but I'm probably wrong.
also, i this for me was more notable than 7 breaths
yeh, same here. Watched it for the first time after reading cityzen's review and loved it. When i heard the quote i was like![]()

Finally saw Le Samourai.
Let me say this, I'm really picky with movies and I find Le Samourai to be up there with the quality flicks. Nga Jef had so much swag! Hahaha

Why of why did I even bother.
It`s like Twilight with a wolf.

Watched that Gnomeo & Juliet movie yesterday. Dunno why the fuck I did it, it was complete shit. Could work if you're high as a kite though, someone do it and tell me how it's like

Almost made me cry, such an amazing film!
Re: Secret Ninja Movie Club (aka what have you watched latel
Finally watched Exit Through the Gift Shop, thought it was fucking awesome! Tried to watch Uncle Boonme last night but my girlfriend was too exhausted to read subtitles. Maybe sometime this weekend.
