If you use a Drumrack you can EQ each sound individually. I don't think this is possible with a Impluse.

If you are using Impulse you can just route the different sounds (kick, snare, hats etc) to an individual audio channel...hit the little I-O symbol and for Ext - In choose Impulse and for for the drop down that says "Post Mixer" choose the relevant sample you wish to route there.
And boom, you can now individually effect that particular sample whatever way you like.

I'm almost certain you can. I always drag little audio snippets into drum racks.

You can put audio in the Drum Rack, and EQ all he elements separately.
Drum Rack > all, sir.

I ask myself that questions every time. Impulse is useless in comparison to Drum Rack, since all it has that Drum Rack doesn't is the random feature, but ever since people found out you could group the Impulse and Drum Rack, so the Drum Rack has the random feature, Impulse was rendered useless. Yet people still use Impulse which confuses me a lot. Personal preference I guess.

For some reason, when i use impulse the drums sound stronger, i turned up the drum rack from -12 to 0 and it still sounds liek it hits harder? Maybe velocity?

Do you change the Drum Rack velocity to the 80% - 100% band mark? Try tweaking the voices and envelopes. I don't remember the last time I used Impulse, for all I know, it might improve drum quality.
