RE: Feedback, I am a prolific feedback giver (check a few pages back)
Feedback time:
@downfall : I like this, it's kinda different, almost like a techno breakdown but, built into a track. Synthy stabs are cool. Reminds me of N-Joi (probably wayyyy before your time :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5gM6rn0R ... e=youtu.be)
@ekidd91 : Lovely atmospherics on this. Reminds of a movie soundtrack. The sub sound is the only criticism, it's too low in the mix, and for the highly atmospheric top half of the track you need some seriously deep bassline to keep your head in the game (so to speak).
@hiddenbase : Jesus. I freaking love that drop. The Autechre bleeps are wicked. Perc is awesome too. The only critique would be it's been brickwall limited to death and had all the dynamics driven out of it. Drop that distorted bass a little to give the other elements room to breath. Seriously nice track, really like it.
@I Am Cook : Moar sub! Drop the lead and work on some filters on it to give it some movement. The 2nd drop is kinda like a dentists drill (which may be the point). Try to work some variation into it.
@PhilthyLoman : Powernoise! Interesting (you should meet a friend of mine who writes very similar stuff). Like the selection of sounds, the only criticism would be the mix is kinda "muddy" as the bass is H.U.G.E (at least on my headphones).
@dalvare1 : Percussion (particularly the kick and snare) is lost. There's not many rhythmic elements in there to drive the momentum. The bass sound is good, but look also look at working in some variation to the main pattern, try some small edits, reverse some sections, automate some filters (more than you are).
@s3b : Zoidberg, nice. Snare needs more bite. I can see this working in a club. The sub must also be below 20hz, as I can hear hints of it in my phones, but it's not hitting where it needs to.
@dmisreal : Please don't take this as a criticism on your track at all, but I'm really getting bored with formant filtered bass sounds. Percussion needs some work, the pattern is fine, the snare needs more bite. The kick is also extremely short duration without any "weight", might look at re-tuning it or layering.
@oprs : Snappy, clean. Little atmospheric tricks in there, like it. Super chunky sub I dig too. I'd like to hear some more musical elements in there (perhaps work with the string section you're hiding in the background)
@orca : Gabba. Haven't heard that in a lonnnnnng time. I think if you increased the ratio on your sidechained lead the pump might be interesting.
@swaggr : I'm feeling this needs an English guy rapping on it or something, it's got that inner-city vibe. You know anyone?
@cheeky : Damn dude you're prolific. Heavy bottom end, liking that. Nice and spacey. I would like some more variation in the bass sound (I feel like a broken record saying that repeatedly).
@amiran : Club jump up. Complextro elements in there. I don't know if that's what you were going for. The high resonance sound that comes in at 1:30 is like, piercing. Might want to look at that. Props on mixing up the genres
@mthrfnk: Your snare needs way more bite, but this could be interesting with that fixed.
@sage1 : For a headphone mix this sounds pretty good to me. Perhaps needs a little more brightness (but my ears could also just be shot for the day). Like the melodic elements for sure.
@xgli7chx : Wobble wobble. The kick needs more punch, as does your snare
@homeless : Where the vocals from? Track has potential after a proper mixdown. Percussion is too low for me and that bass is huge, perhaps pull that down just a bit.
@Noisestorm : I like this, totally a crowd banger for sure. Lot's of variation too on the bass pattern. You've been listening to a lot of Feed Me/Skrillex
@Loadium : I like the 2nd drop with the orchestral pads. A little incongruous with the first bit, but I like where it's headed for sure. I'd be interested to hear this finished. The little stop/reverse is good stuff too.
Ok, and I'm spent. More feedback tomorrow. Good work everyone
