Want to know this tooMCstanglDubstep wrote:Alright lads? I have been scouring these forums for over a month now trying to find something to point me in the correct direction of making a fat, crunchy, harmonically rich, and almost reese like bass used in KOAN sound-Blue Stripes. I have been very close to creating this sound, but I am not satisfied. In advance, thank you for any help, feedback, and tips that I will receive.

That bright, Electro House synth. Great for chords and riffs. I've done all the basic two saws, detuned, lowpass, envelope modulation, and still nothing. What am I missing? I really need to buy Sylenth1, I hear it's great at such synths.
it's not a vst, it's a guitar sample.Gurnumsbug wrote:Anyone know if KOAN Sound uses a vst for their guitar riff that starts at :55? if so then how in the bloody hell would you start shaping a guitar like sound?
I assumed it was a reese, but I can't seem to figure out how to keep both the high end and the low end intact while keeping the modulation still noticeable. Do I route all the oscillators to the notch, or just one? Are there any effects added? I've noticed with my other reeses, a phaser seems to give nice modulation but strips the sound of a lot of the aggression.jrisreal wrote:Ben, its a combination of detuning saws and automating notch filters. Takes some practice to be able to make neurofunk reeses like that
