Yeah, google pays you for allowing them to advertise on your page, and pay you even more if someone clix. Impression ads really start to pile up once you get rolling.

I want to put one of those spinny globe things on my page to see where readers are from, but do you think that freaks some people out when they see it? Maybe i'll put it at the bottom underneath all the posts.

Knell you can just check it out in your stats! If you guys aren't using Google Analytics, get on it! Really helps identify where traffic is coming from, what pages garner the most interest, how long people stay on average, etc.


I think the ad type served depends on your niche and how much competition there is for ads. If there's lots of advertisers bidding, the highest paying ones will be displayed. If your just getting generic ads chances are, they aren't going to be pay per impression like some of the targeted ones.

Wow it keeps going up, Up to almost 10 bucks today. Don't wanna jinx it but I hope this continues. Been doing mad commenting, gonna keep at it and hope the pay per impression ads stay. Much easier than relying on clicks.

No sweet clue. I remember reading a myth that they're only available with text ads but the source said this wasn't true and that having text and picture ads enabled increased the pool of ads to draw from, thus increasing your chances of getting high paying ads.

as far as paid impressions go, i never clicked anything special or anything, it just started happening. i'll ask around and see what people say.

If someone is just going through clicking ads, google nerfs the payout on those clicks (according to my understanding of the situation). I've gotten 1 cent clicks before. And I spent 4 hours today for 1.51. Honestly more profitable to beg for change on the street. I can only hope that I can build momentum again. This has always been spotty for me, I'll get an 8 dollar day, then a .25 cent day, then a 2 dollar day. I want $30 days, every day, 7 days a week. Through and through.

I just saw it in my adsense prefs, it has some kind of application form where you explain what your blog is and what kind of traffic it draws, thats all i know from skimming through it. Just wondering if anyone else was using it.

Had a lot of impressions today across both of my blogs (also both contribute to your ctr, so if you do have some weird spike in your clicks, it won't goof things up), around 300. That is the most in a single day for me.
