Post by Foreplay » Sun Aug 14, 2011 1:10 am

At :29, how do you get your basses to have that super "phat" sound, its the only word i could think of to describe it. It sounds different and i couldn't figure it out. :?

there is a thread called 'how do i make this sound' or something along those lines. if you make your own thread then you knock one other thread off the page which could be helpful to someone. kind of selfish when you think about it. use the right threads and it stops people from missing the important stuff. capiche

a majority of the time when people ask how to get a "fat" sound it's due to unison/dimension expander or like gotham said above layer a bounced version that's quieter than the original to add that extra umph. that sound specifically sounds like it's main aspect is the distortion that makes it sound so gritty. ohmicide works wonders with distortion.

parralell compression will make anything sound big and phat, and foreplay people arent bitching. well, yes they are.

its just theres so many how do i make this sound threads and they make the original threads get bumped down, no offense to you, just sayin.

wub (or was it ledge?) even went the extra mile to make a new "how do i make this sound thread" for the certain month. :/

Lol  You should learn to mixdown before you tackle excision bass, just sayin. Your attitude is shit man, dime a dozen "producer" with a bad attitude, awful path to set off down.

one of the weakest basses in his prods, i hate when he uses that one... cause his other ones are WAY beyond crazy (i love the cat)...

this one i hate simply because it sounds like Massive's Brutal electro with a rather non-hygienic eqing approach..
