Thoughts on this Speaker Set-up

Post by White_jamaican » Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:11 pm

Hi everyone,

Noobie here, I've been using my laptop/numark mix track pro/computer speakers set-up for a while now and the computer speakers aren't really cutting it anymore. I've been doing a bit of searching online for a new speaker set-up and came across these and they look like a pretty decent deal.

The kind of music I mix/listen to is dubstep/electro, usually something with heavy bass.

Just wondering if this would be a good speaker set-up, and what other equipment would I need to make it work with my current set-up as far as cords and an amp go, thanks!

try something like this:

better for bedroom, the other ones you're going to need to buy amps and the necessary cables. you'd be better off purchasing some studio monitors that are accurate to lower hz.

thanks! So what I should be looking for are 'studio' speakers? These ones I can just plug into the headphone jack on my laptop and I won't need a amp, cables etc?

Is it just me or do the studio speakers look a little small? Almost like bookshelf speakers, do you think it'd be sufficient enough for maybe even a smaller house party?

thanks in advance!
