These are a nice change to using the same major minor melodies and can add some funky elements to your music.

Ex: Jewish Scale: 1 2b 3 4 5 6b 7b
Very cool Arabian kind of feeling to it.

Hungarian Minor: 1 2 3b 4# 5 6b
Dark evil sounding.
I dig it.

came across this site: http://www.musicopedia.com/scales/0-piano.php

It: visually shows which keys to use, gives you a play button so you can hear it, lists the key info, and lists compatible chords. Result.

I actually do have an exotic scale I like, I don't really know the whole scale but I made this little riff a loooong time ago on guitar and it's really tight.

Oh, I just went and figured it out, it's:

A A# C D E F G G# A

Play around with that, if I'm correct it's a 1 2 3b 4 5 6b 7bb 7b

The 7bb is the seventh degree just double flatted, so down two semitones. The scale has 8 notes so I don't really know how else to write it. But try this little interval, E F G#. That'll get you started on some tight stuff.

Thats the A Phrygian mode with an added 7th :W:

the scale you wrote above in letters would actually be 1 2b 3b 4 5 6b 7b 7
