just got a KorgpadKontrol too, just brought the fun back into making melodies (I used to play drums, but no melodic instruments so...set up a minor scale on the pads, hammer away)

I'd give her my secret weapon.
On a serious one though; reverbs mine! The technique more than a plugin or w/e.

Re: What's your secret production weapon?
I used to think this too, but honestly the more I produce the more I realize that I just want to get ideas down on my DAW before I forget them. If sample packs or copying drum hits from other producers let's me do that then I'm all for it. You can always tweak it later anyways.MexicanKangaroo wrote:plugin chains. splitting every reece in 4 separate buses of certain frequencies, throwing lots of phasers and distortions on one range, then cutting a big chunk out of its eq. throw bandpass on. automate. seems to work.
btw, I don't see the point in using downloaded patches, especially ones from commercial packs like Vengeance. You don't really learn anything from it (unless you pull it apart bit by bit) and you didn't make it either... takes the whole point away from producing.

Dusted off my Korg K-25 again. Been loading up a sinewave patch and jamming out for hours on end. nothing like a bit of musicality.
