This is how i deal with writers block:
go to a rollercoaster park
going mental - til i vomit
go home exhausted
sleep well
wake up in the morning fresh

If you are making tunes simply because you wanna grow big and want people to know about you, then you have an ego problem.
You need to produce because you enjoy doing it. Don't get me wrong, you should share your tunes with people but only because you want to make them happy. Or to get an approval that your work sounds good.
Depth is a delusion, the deeper you look the less you see.

I wonder how many people who posted in this thread are still producing?

Me, I've been playing instruments since I was 5. Music has been a lifelong thing with me. I can put it on the back burner sometimes, but it is never going to go away.

Unfortunately I am only getting in the studio once a week at best. Hoping to change that. But I am more of a morning late afternoon type person for production...usually mentally spent at night after work.

3za reporting in.

Me, I've been playing with my banjo string since birth. Playing with myself has been a lifelong thing with me. I can put it on the back burner sometimes, but it is never going to go away.

I just stop until I want to write something. I think a good workflow helps get ideas down before motivation runs out, too.

Not to exaggerate the benefits or downplay the risks but psychedelic drugs can help. MDMA/MDA, LSD, cannabis, etc. I'd avoid ket, there's a lot of evidence it's kind of toxic. http://www.maps.org has some good info.

Edit: I notice that hyperlinks are automatically embedded now, forum upgrade?

Writers block = you are not inspired.

If you want to produce, find inspiration.

Wise words. Seriously the best thing Ive read in a long time. I took a break and now its even more difficult getting back in the groove of things. Should've never stopped practicing. Did learn how to mix proper during my absence of production. Another thing thats really good for writers block is collaborating with a friend. :)
