This was massive, one of the best nights out I've had in a while.

Youngsta crushed, Kode 9 was sick as was slimzee and Skream dropped an immense set.
Was it Slimzee who dropped Rusko - Cockney thug? The place went MENTAL to it!

Unfortunatly I was shattered from an early start so didn't stay the rest of the night, kicked about a little bit during Marcus Nasty's set but left during it. School boy error judging from some of the comments about the later sets.
A big shout to Ben UFO at the start of the night though. Tough pulling the first set of the night on this one, especially as it was the more recent time line wise.

I have to jump on the bouncer band wagon a little bit though, as on my way in I had one of the door men practically mug me during a search. He was going down my wallet at one point checking old reciepts!

I sat in Brixton Maccie D's at 5am absolutley shell shocked. Massive night!
This one goes out to all the fried chicken lovers.

Biggest night for a long time! Venue was sick, every set I saw was massive.. We left towards the end of oneman, so just missed ntype. Youngsta smashed it as expected, loved kode9s set and skreams set aswell, all about starting with lemon! :h: And glamma sounded weighty :corndance: .

The bouncers always looked pissed off, but i think they were alright, doing their job i guess. We almost got taken out for bunning a spliff right at the start which would have been a wounder coming down from notts, but just hid it and said it must be someone else. He walked to 2 people standing next to us and clocked them instead :|

The crowd was wicked aswell, everyone there was sound, good vibes!

Roll on outlook

If anyone can name some of the tracks Slimzee was playing I'd be very grateful, I don't know all that much about grime.

That one with the kind of lazerbeam hi-hats was IMMENSE.

I was the guy the bouncers chucked out at 6:30 >____>
They caught me putting the last of my mud into my water, took the empty baggie and forgot to take the water though :corndance:
Bit shit I missed out the end of Oneman's set, although to be fair it was all good new shit you hear a lot at most clubnights anyway.
Fucking amazing night anyway! After a summer of hearing too much shite DnB and wobble at festivals it's reminded me just how special Dubstep can be.
Humbled me into realizing I need to go back and do my research on classic 2004-8 dubstep, as my knowledge cuts off around the end of the whole dark garage phase and picks off again with Hyph Mungo

Big up to everyone there though! It was pure vibes, no agro, no head nodders, just pure love for the music and the scene.

Does anyone know the name of the photography company that was shooting the night BTW? I think there might some pretty mashy photos on da interwebz...

Ahhh fuck the more i remember the night the more the smile grows on my face. Im so glad I pick my nights to go to. Those who go to every night possible just dont respect the genre enough.

Ive been to about 4 or 5 nights all year really. 6th DMZ Birthday, DMZ Leeds in May, FWD>> 10th, Kryptic Minds small gigg in Huddersfield

Fair enough the majority of the tunes I heard on Saturday were before I got into Dubstep. I could probably only claim to be into Dubstep since 2009 but I've got to known and love the genre that much that every set I was recognising tunes. Maybe the Zinc and Oris Jay sets were a bit too far back but they were an education.

All i can really say unless you book one of the DJs that played for a set like that you wont experience anything like that again. Maybe if someone books Youngsta for an Old School set you will get something similar but to hear the likes of Kode9 play those tunes from that era or Skream would be a longshot personally

Any idea on what year you would of been playing, possibly 2004 instead of slimzee? Since he looked like he was bored out of his mind and did not want to be there 1 bit.

woah woah would not say that at all. Just because he wasnt hype and all over the place doesnt mean he didnt want to be there. DJ's have their own ways of style. I was kinda feeling the whole 'no emotions' thing he had going because he was absolutely smashing it.

In terms of Kode9 i really wish there was a recording I can't stress enough how good that set was. I can remember the tune he opened with but cannot put a name to it and im not sure iv'e got the lyrics right in my head. Im sure its one by him though but im not 100%.

From tunes i remember he played Alicia - Mala, 9 Samurai (Quarta330 Remix), Find My Way, Skeng and I think he ended on Near Dark - Burial but i only caught about 10 seconds of it :u:
