...how does the front page of the Dubs board look? Still a nuclear wasteland of mess?
yes.

Ok - why?

Is it the icons being used/not being used?
ZOMG CHEK MA BEATZ!! language being employed in thread titles?

It just really seems like a clusterfuck.

If anything a little organization would help.
Its nothing to do with the icons, or the useless cap lock threads.
Its so hard to find anything you actually wanna listen too.

I mean granted i can usually spot what i dont wanna listen to by the thread title, still.
Organization would go along way.
Not saying this is anything mod oriented, given its a hard area to mod.

Well I've spent the morning modding it so far ;)

With regards to organisation, assuming that sub forums are out of the question, would (genre) tags after the tune title help? So the format would be;

ICON [Artist] - [Tune] (Genre)

IF sub forums are out of the question 100% yeah, that would be a big help.
But you gotta realize 85% that come into the dub forums, Hit that post a thread button without any care of how to label anything. It may work for a little bit, but it will re clutter itself eventually.

Not trying to knit pick by anymeans, modding that shit is appreciated i can only imagine.

This last statement assumes that it's gets modded once, and that somehow that will instantly solve all the problems - I'm well aware that this is not the case, and if the Dubs board takes gentle continuous light modding to keep it in check, then so be it. I modded the front page of it this morning, took me about 20mins to edit thread titles/change icons REMOVE DA ZOMG WORDZ & TINGS and generally make the place look tidy. That 20mins covered all new threads back to and including 48hrs ago.

The Dubs board has a much lower instance of thread necromancy than other areas of the forum, so hopefully once the new structure has been in place for a while, the modding will be less required. For example, if I were to do the same process at the same time tomorrow morning, in theory it should only take me 10mins, assuming that I need only cover the previous 24hrs and haven't modded anything during that time.

well, keep up the good work.
One thing that actually might help is repeat offenders on the non labelment is warning and a ban for a time period? people will pay attention to that.

That's a little bit draconian, but I see your point. I'd prefer to send PMs advising them of the benefits of correct labelling, after it's been amended. Handing out bans left right & centre might put people off altogether, which would be counter productive.

Fair enough, I'll take that on board. We'll give it a week and see how the regime change has affected things, then reassess if required 8)

Not sure how pages of "ZOMG CHECK OUT MY FIRST TUNE &R OLD PRODUCERZ WOBBLEZ!!!" would really help things though

Sadly, beyond my power. But why a public board, just out if interest?

So that lurkers and people who arent members can stumble onto my music via dubs.

Ive got mad friends who read this site and dont realize dubs exists because only members can see it...

And being private like that creates a serious feeling of a producer circle jerk. My primary complaint is just that, its a producer circle jerk by design, alienates anyone whos not a member and active on production.

And who do I have to propose that to then, dubway?

To my knowledge, yes.

We discuss free market economics within developing nations over cigars and port, occasionally playing backgammon.
