MidiShaper is out now! Check: http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html
And it's only EUR 10/USD 15 until August 23rd.

You guys are getting close to my price point!
Because of Maschine's limited midi architecture, this won't work in there?

Looks like a good way to create more unique "wobbles" and add movement into your bass.futures_untold wrote:Cableguys new Midishaper RAWKZ!
Try it out and watch the demo videos at http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html![]()
What does it do?
It allows you to modulate any MIDI assignable control in any of your soft synths, effects plugins and hardware using custom drawn LFO shapes!
So what?
It means you can automate every control on plugins which don't have built in modulators. Or to modulate controls with custom LFO shapes on plugins with shit modulation options.....![]()
Need I say more?VirtualMark wrote:This plugin is really cool! Only been messing round with it for about an hour and I can see it opens up a lot of possibilities. It's a bit clunky to set up in Cubase, but once its up and running it's cool.
Advantages of Midishaper vs automation are that you can draw in a curve much easier giving you more control. You can also adjust LFO speeds and amplitudes on the fly. Furthermore you can use the MIDI learn feature on your synth and assign one LFO to several different sources. This is handy as I've not found another way to do this in Cubase.
Just messing about on Massive, I can already assign the macros to loads of parameters, i.e filter cutoff, waveshape, envelope attack etc.
To take it a step further, I can then assign each macro to an LFO on Midishaper. this can create some crazy modulations.
To take it even further I could then put an automation track on Midishaper! although I've not tried this, I can imagine it might be useful for changing LFO rates etc. The possibilities are endless, I really like this plugin!
Still don't get it??
I give up. So should you. Go away...
Nice!

We haven't tested it with Maschine. But you can try the demo and see if it works (if so, let us know!).nowaysj wrote:Because of Maschine's limited midi architecture, this won't work in there?

A lot of these guys' plugs are redundant, but are still strangely useful despite their redundancy. Go figure.

FL studio has the feature where you type in your own modulation curve equations. I think it's called the equation controller or something similar.
Also, plugins like Love Philter and Sytrus have crazy modulation options to begin with....!
Still, Cableguys Curve plugin here is capable of modulating any midi controllable control, presumable including hardware and controls on software or plugins without built in modulation options.
I'm buying it!

The sad answer is: No. AudioUnit does not support Midi Output, so there is no chance to support Logic at this point. What we could do, though, is to output the MIDI data to a virtual MIDI port, which you then use in Logic. If there is much demand, we might do this at some point.davyd wrote:Does this work in logic?

crap! looks really cool though, would definately buy it if you ever make an au-version. but that curve-plugin works for logic right?

Yes, Curve is not only VST, but also AU (AudioUnit) so it works in Logic. And it has the same LFOs (they can even modulate each other) http://www.cableguys.de/curve.htmldavyd wrote:crap! looks really cool though, would definately buy it if you ever make an au-version. but that curve-plugin works for logic right?

Okey sweet! curve looks seriously ill! will check it out

What is that, like $10

No, though, for something like this, something that my daw already has in multiple levels of redundancy as futures pointed out, honestly $10 would be my strike point. I might even do it for $15, but we'll see. I just picked up Rob Papen's delay which is (hopefully) the sickness for $10. I know the world is gone crazy, but no one has money to spend, so no one makes money, so no one has money to spend... etc.
Best of luck, hope I do get a chance to pick this up. Love everything you guys do.
Re: New secret weapon! - Modulator madness badness!
Logic has some really cool Automation controls though, even though it doesn't work with logic, you can basically do the same thing in logic with automation data, automation curves and duplicating the automation. Use an automation lane so it's cleaner.davyd wrote:Does this work in logic?
A shame this doesn't work in logic though, could be fun to play with.

Yeah, thats what I meant, would be fun to mess around with it hehe.Toric wrote:Logic has some really cool Automation controls though, even though it doesn't work with logic, you can basically do the same thing in logic with automation data, automation curves and duplicating the automation. is there a demo so i could try this with a vst to au wrapper?Jakob - Cableguys wrote:The sad answer is: No. AudioUnit does not support Midi Output, so there is no chance to support Logic at this point. Yes, we have demos of all our products (and you can get the free PanCake) here: http://www.cableguys.de/downloads.htmlManic Harmonic wrote:is there a demo so i could try this with a vst to au wrapper?Jakob - Cableguys wrote:The sad answer is: No. AudioUnit does not support Midi Output, so there is no chance to support Logic at this point. But I doubt it works with an VST to AU wrapper, as AU itself is so limited. Only if the AU wrapper also brings output to a virtual MIDI port? If you prove us wrong and if it works, I'll send you a free copy right away. Let us know.

Yeah I've heard audio unit doesn't have that sort of capability, I know there are some other vst plugins that are missing features in the au version. Its worth a try though.

Re: New secret weapon! - Modulator madness badness!
We're currently working on improving MidiShaper, adding a menu so that you can output MIDI to any physical and virtual MIDI port. Live for example needs that to automate its internal devices (right now you can do it via additional software, but it gets much nicer then). And we are confident that we can also do AudioUnits then. Most complicated in this scenario is to get MIDI timing tight, and we are fine-tuning that at the moment. If you want to help us, we'd be glad it you beta test - contact us on contact@cableguys.de then!

Re: New secret weapon! - Modulator madness badness!
MidiShaper 1.1 beta is up!
It brings the - much requested - support for AudioUnits, and can output MIDI not only directly to the host sequencer, but also to physical and virtual MIDI ports. With some hosts and plugins this works better than the current method.
There's tons of setups with all the hosts, plugins and hardware outside, and we can't test them all, so let us know if you find any problems, or just let us know if it works great. You can write to contact@cableguys.de, send a PM or post here for public discussion.
Here's the download (PC+Mac, VST+AU, 32+64-bit):
http://cableguys.de/downloads/Cableguys ... 1-Beta.zip
And don't forget.. it's just EUR 10/USD 15 until August 23rd.

Re: New secret weapon! - Modulator madness badness!
Until 4pm CET today you can still buy MidiShaper for EUR 10/USD 15. I will then change the price to EUR 20/USD 30. See http://www.cableguys.de/midi-shaper.html
MidiShaper 1.1 will bring AU support and output to physical and virtual MIDI ports, so if it does not run in your host or with your plugins it might do so with the next version (you can test it with the beta from the news at http://www.cableguys.de). It's currently in beta and we guess to do the official release within the next 10 days.
