Really don't understand some of the hate towards Steve Jobs on here.

He took over what was essentially a failing company back in the late 90s - having already been ousted once - and turned it into what was, briefly, the biggest company in the world by market cap. That's nothing but pure success right there.

So what if you don't like his products? Don't buy them. Do you think Apple is contributing any more to the decline of the western world than any other company out there? Is he worse than an arms dealer? The same? Are all corporate businessmen inherently evil? Don't understand it myself. What has he really done to attract such ire? Apart from be more successful than pretty much all of us. The tnuc.

And moreover the man is resigning on health grounds - and people say good riddance? That's dark. And not funny dark, just a bit weird really. The man isn't a murderer, he's not a child molestor, he isn't even a London rioter. He's just a man, who happens to be very ill and cannot do his job anymore.

I've met the guy. A sound company I used to work for had the responsibility of doing the sound and projection for his keynote speeches at the Moscone Center in Frisco. He was nothing more than a rude asshole in the brief moments I met him.
