@mtl6....... love the intro and outro. like the rest of it aswell, just feels like theres something missing after a little bit. not sure what though. nice tune!
@cubicle........ exorcism - drums are really nice man, i reckon you definitely need to change those bass sounds. they don't do the drums justice. i can imagine the finished product's gunna be sick!
@E-T-F........triptick - i like it. i reckon it could do with some faster hats and some other high end shit later on in the tune to keep the energy but i'm lovin' the atmosphere. nice work!

gave feedback to some people now on their soundcloud links! This is the same tune I was working on earlier, just updated with better percussion and drums, and better overall mixdown, still alot to do though.

@ninthy4 - LIKE. Very Noisia-ish with the high passed reeses. Not much to add, found myself moving as soon as I started it which is a good sign.
@Tuneless - I'd add more lower octaved piano notes, maybe the root note of each chord 1 octave down, just to give it more body. Really liked the vocal sample, works really well with the melody. Hi hats seemed a bit chaotic though.
@GV1 - Really interesting style going on in the first track. Kinda gave me a reminder of Foreign Beggars.
Here's something I threw together in about 15 minutes earlier. Trying something new(synth wise and BPM). It's totally experimental but would like some feedback on how it's turned out

Nice one bud. The first one was done vocalled by recording each couple of bars individually. It's a vocal technique I picked up from Necro (punchins). The second one was a straight mic test and recorded in a single take. I always use the first approach because the vocals come out sounding nicer and the vocals are more well defined.Espy wrote: @GV1 - Really interesting style going on in the first track. I've got some other bits on my old mac I will upload. You're the 3rd person to say Foreign Beggers since uploading. My influences are Ill Bill and Necro.
I'll comment on your track when I'm on the other PC.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@mtl6 - I like the jittery percussion and the fact that it slides out of time. Like the guitar atmosphere too, the scraping sound gets a bit distracting after the initial drop (if you can call it a drop), I'd take it out. Nice track though, like the vibe a lot.
@standby - I love this intro, like, love it love it. Super clean, like the glitchy clicks in the background. This sounds super lush, and the chipsound stabs, first drop is lovely. I could hear this in a downtempo lounge or club atmosphere any day. Awesome work. Got nothing to add!
@ninthy4 - First off, congrats on the Koan Sound repping
Your stuff is wicked. You've got the Phace/Noisia reese evil sound down pat, this reminds me of "Diplodocus". I'd like a little more crack on the snare, but this some lovely neurofunk. You should send this to Neosignal.
@espy - Pull that lead bass down just a tad, and post it back when you have more and I'll give you some more objective input.
@applewater - BASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Stomping on your perc a little too much, but it's a great sound nonetheless, like the little speech atmos interludes too. Clean up the mix and work on some variation in the bassline and you're good!
...and with that, this is something I've been cooking up, for collab with Ascian and GV1. Have at it:

This is probably the 3rd or 4th beat I've made in FL Studio since I started actually trying to make beats instead of merking about in it for no reason haha. What do you guys think?

The stem export will definitely work, I ran out of time to get it all bundled last night, but will get it done tonight.Ascian wrote:Deafblind, yeah really like it so far! Can't wait to get my hands on those stems and have a chat about it! Will go well with a vocal for sure
Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
Hi there, its my first time trying to create this sort of music, im usually a singer/songwriter guy. So i would love to get some production/comp feedback.
Its a little embarrassing to post this tune here, since it seems all the other tracks ive listened to on this site is pretty awesome compared to the trash ive made.
I know some sounds might be a bit high, so sorry for that.
Let me know what you think! i already know its not good, but would love some comments on what i could do to make it sound good. Both arranging and and sound.
Cheers!

@mtl6 Beautifully chill. Nice intro, great sounds, love it. It could use a little more going on, a melody and lead sound, nothing intense though. Try some light bells or mallet sounds.
@Standby I guess its chill day, but that great with me. Love the horn pads. Dear me those 8 bits are lovely. I should learn 8bit. They could use a little more volume to punch more. The second segment is wonderful. Try throwing a lfo on a highpass on those stabby pads, idk if itd work, but they sound like they could use some movement and you could get some great effects in there. Maybe a trancegate effect too, idk. Just some ideas. Sick fade out, great tune.
@Ninthy :O How did you? So noisia its fantastic. I want to learn. Sick patterns, sick sounds, so jealous.
@Epsy Love it. Keep it up. It's kinda early, but this as a full tune would demand a sick breakdown. It would drop all the ladies panties, top scientist agree.
@Deafblind The sub kicks need more volume or something, great, but week. Love the drop. Great work, can't wait for the finished product.
This is the first half of a two part song. I made this song a while ago, but it was really messy and shittally mixed. Now my skills are better and I wen't back, cleaned it up, improved the synth and the sequencing. What do you guys think of my heavy hitter?

Totally agree, this isn't anywhere NEAR finished, nor mixed, nor mastered - just raw Cubase exportEmatyael wrote:@Deafblind The sub kicks need more volume or something, great, but week. Love the drop. Great work, can't wait for the finished product.

Re: WIPs/unfinished tunes for feedback * no finished tunes *
@deafblindmusic - intro is nice man really like that, panning on the snare is a nice touch.... all sounds good after the drop aswel no criticism really good job!
@Ematyael - intro is quite nice but i would say to work on your main synth bass a little bit and sort the levels out, the snare is a bit lost under the synths
could do with a bit more sub aswell i think
@Espy - work on your drums a bit i think some reverb is needed in the snare!
@E-T-F -Triptick - Yes mate felling this one, bass is nice! like the drum pattern aswell maybe some sort of heavily reverbed pad would sound good coming in at a later point? tho i'd probably say that with most tunes.... it's pretty sick as is to tbh
got two wips at the minute:

wizeguy- your on your own. really love the intro nice and eerie. little bit of perc is a nice tick. the vibe when it drops is immense. not so sure of the reverbed synth comin in the background id say hold off on that for later on in the song. if a girl gives it up on the first date whats to look forwards too? prolong that shit. really liking the background stab though for sure. this easily a roller. very nice.
housey garage ting- same intro is nice. i like the drop into but it feels like something is missing, add maybe a little bit more? thats all preference by the way. either way it sounds really damn good. production is on point man. love listening to your work.
emat- snare has no power behind it, drums lay real low in the mix for this one. when the synth comes in it, it sits really high above everything and pushes everything into the back. mesh everything as one. maybe change up the beat some also, leave some space. bitches love space. take it to the moon bruv. work on the mixing.
livedht- ive heard this beat somewhere i swear. either way, work on getting the levels right on your percussion so it stands out. this is dubstep, bass music. you wanna be able to get your grove on along with the bass part. the synth on this track sits a little too far back, and i think it either needs to be gritted more or less. right now its at that cheesy heard it a thousand time sound. but thats not a bad thing. take it as constructive cause it is. i see potential. also you can get really creative on how you work your builds. a regular kick build just seems like oh, i worked on the rest of the song for 2 days and just stuck that in. keep it up. i really do like the melody though, thats spot on.
deafblind- really really diggin the intro in that. nice long build for a good drop. not even a huge fan of this style but i really dig it. you kept it interesting. keep this collab up it certainly shows potential.
Haven't used the WIPs in awhile, ussually just been going at it.
but i need to know what this needs work on

@Standby: Chill! Love the rhytms and mellow sounding samples. Don't really have nothing bad to say about it!
@Espy Not really fan of this style. Add some percussion, heavy hi-hats and synth volume down a bit.
@Deafblind Nice sound design, reminds me of some psy stuff. Sick bassline and percussion, this one good one.
Here's one by me, tried something different 155 bmp.

Akkep- I dont really like the intro kick/tom, but its a personal taste thing. nice perc rhythms in the intro, pretty sick after the drop man, love it! maybe work on the kick though sounds a bit poor aside from that sounds nice
wizeguy- i like the chilled vibes of your first wip. everything sounds good from a technical standpoint and the mixdown sounds fine, nice work with this one pal keep going with it.
ematyael- work on your snare man sounds weak needs layering. midrange sounds too generic afart from the slow growls which are alright but they need turning down and a bit of verb adding to them. mixdowns not great, need to work on your levels man. however i like the swinging halfstep drum rhythm in the second part of the tune.
heres something i just randomly ended up making and decided to put effort into it, still a long way from finished though

Thanks for the snare comments guys! I hadn't even noticed, and after I mixed it and layered a bit more it sounds SO! much better
I also boosted ma' sub, sounds legit now
@ cheeky I'm digging the intro, great kinda sinister/creepy vibe. Expand on that. The wobble is a little weird, but I like the grooves you've got going. It's not a bad sound, it just isn't where it needs to be yet. Keep working at it and definitely go with the ideas you've got going already, sounds great so far.

oprs - nice percussion you've got there! but you've need to spend more time and work with the bass.
akkep - love the bea's, specially at the end, when the snare double itself, a bit long. but still, nice job.
cheeky - which filter did you use on the "metal" bass sound? its sound a bit too punchy at the high one. maybe too much chorus?
well guy's i made a sketch in ableton, used sylenth1 for most of the bases but some of them ar operator.
it's not finished, i need to add some more synth's and organize them, but that's what i've made so far :
