Macbook Pro with Logic 7 Pro

Right, I have been using a cracked copy of Logic 5.5 on my PC for about 3 years now.

I have made some half decent beats on there but it keeps crashing on my ass at crucial moments and I've had to reinstall Logic too many times to mention.

Now, I have been looking into buying a MacBook Pro and Logic 7 Pro so I can really get into the tunes and take it with me on my travels.

Am I better off buying a proper version of a PC based music program, or biting the bullet and turning to the Apple side?

If anyone out there is in the same predicament, or has the big boy laptop with Logic, could you lend any advice?

I got a macbook with logic express, ain't crashed yet. After using fruity on a dodge pc can definately recommend apple route, sounds tons better too

yeah, the latest Logic 7 is very very stable.

And very very powerful when running on a macbook Pro. I don't really have to worry *at all* about track counts or how many effects I have running, on my setup (17" MBP, Logic Pro 7.2.3)

i've got the badboy laptop with the badboy logic. it's insane. i've only got 1 gig of ram in my computer-- been too busy to upgrade-- but the last session i was working in had 24 audio tracks, 2 instances of stylus remix, 2 instances of minimoog, 3 samplers, at least half-a-dozen instances of vintagewarmer, 5 space designer plugs... it'll slow up and freeze in playback if it gets too full but with the 'track freeze' function, you can just keep throwing shit at it and it'll work fine.

logic takes a bit to open up, depending on your autoload... but it's a beast. i can't think of a better value out there.

Logic users, do you use Logic's own EQ, compression etc plug-ins when mixing and masterin your tunes, or do you use some other ? if so what do u use?

Whichever system you are used to using, keep it up. Develope your talents with what you are most comfortable... you can use all the same software on mac and pc both, really... get a mac and run windows on it, if you need something for windows.

dude till intel core duo this question isn't a question anymore. you can also safe money and buy a pc, install os x or use a apple computer parallel with windows. there is no question anymore if apple or pc, it depends on your money and I guess os x runs better on apple computers, but haven't read lately any tests.

I would prefer a power mac or g5, you can have more ram on this ones, but mac book pro is sick aswell
