Help: Click/Pop in NI Massive

Post by [Lg] » Fri Sep 02, 2011 3:17 am

so I get this really annoying high pitched popping/clicking noise in massive when I use the lfo. I've tried filtering it out with different filters, and I played around with the volume envelope to get rid of it and nothing is working. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

The default for lfo is the sine wave and the saw ramp
Turn the xfade slider all the way up and center the sine wave in the little picture thingy. Like have the hump in the middle or the dip in the middle. Usually works for me.

Not really sure if this is it but I get a popping clicking noise when I have too much going on in my DAW (fl studio) or massive, when it starts to take up too much cpu it does this for me. There is a cpu meter in massive that tells you how much cpu the synth is using. In order to stop this, I usually sample out the section in my DAW, then start a new project, import that sample into it, and then start on a new massive patch, That way I don't have all my effects channels for all the other sounds clogging up my cpu. If it's an actual sound coming from the synth itself, I don't really know as I don't have that problem.

I notice that also
I do most of my synth work in midi and then bounce it to an audio track because that is so much better CPU use.

it won`t always work rando

cpu issues are cpu issues, you need to bounce the audio to reduce the load.

Damn you guys are on point thanks! So I tried bouncing the midi to audio and it still has the clicking noise. I realized that I only get the noise when I use the SAW lfo shape, so I'm assuming it has something to do with the sharp ends of the waveform?
I cranked my buffer size too that didn't do anything : /
any other suggestions?
I'm on a macbook pro by the way, and this will happen even when massive is my only track so it's not a hardware problem I don't think

With the saw lfo shape you can see that it has to jump up really quickly and that gives it that pop.
