May be a nooby question but: Is there any way to transfer patterns set up in one project file straight into another?

For example I started a project around 2 weeks ago and instead of progressing with the actual track, the proect file has become more of a brainstorm with loads of different melodies and shit that I've just messed around with - but now I want to actually take a lot of this and create a new track in a seperate Fl file without bouncing everything to wavs. Any easy way to do this?

you're not recording automation in pattern mode are you? make sure its set to song and that there isnt anything funny going on in the corresponding playlist channel. And also that you don't have anything accidently selected. (like 16 bars of the playlist.)

Think you could either copy/paste piano roll notes to a new project, or save some midi files. (and any vst settings)

I started learning sidechainig since a week or two. In FL I need to make a clone of my desired trigger sound (the kick for instance), and set it to a channel with the volume down, and with a peak controller assigned to the channel. But it seems as though I cannot use that trigger sound for more than one VST's if they are not on the same channel. Seems kinda weird to me. When I try to link two compressors to this channel it says "Remove conflicts". And then one of two gets unchained again.

So what is this about then? Do I have to make a new clone, and send it to yet a diffrent channel every time I want to sidechain a VST that is on a diffrent channel, or for instance is linked to a buss channel?

Untick the box next to where it says Remove Conflicts and you should be able to use a single peak controller as a trigger for as many things as you want.

Personally when I've tried to do that I just don't remove the conflicts, same as if I'm linking the LFO changes of two similar patches to a single automation clip. It's probably not the correct method but I found that it worked :P

Hmm to copy/paste stuff I'd have to have two instances of FL open and whenever I try to copy/paste between the two it doesn't let me. I might have to just export stuff as midi loops :(

Shift + Ctrl + M is the shortcut for exporting piano roll information as a MIDI file. Have a folder setup somewhere easy to find (like the desktop) to drop them into once you've exported, then you can open them again in the new project.

Cool thanks, I wish there was a drag'n'drop feature, suppose its my own fault for getting the project file so messy.

it can be used as an alternative for rewiring in some cases. I used to do this to rewire FL with ACID 7 before I dropped ACID altogether and went full FL.
...in my opinion

"before i dropped ACID" hahaha
I hear the term rewire on this forum all the time and still and still am yet to know what it does. Would you mind elaborating?

Hey dudes, just a quick question. What is the best way to add parallel compression to a sound? I tried using the send, but the send doubles the signal, causing it to increase in volume dramaticly, and also not giving the effect I crave for....

is there a way to get the granulizer to not sound so gargled when the note is changed, im using the demo version so is it forcing me to level it myself?

there are some parameters (the 4 main ones in the upper panel) which change the frequencies of the sample and some do not. I`m assuming that it bugs you that your sound does not keep its original note/frequency?
Start with the default values and see which knobs alter your sound in what way. The wave spacing one, when you move it to the middle freezes your sound when you move it to the middle and keeps your frequency. Its a good starting point.

Use sends.Just be sure paralell compr channel and dry channel have the same effect plugins,so the volume and phasing will be ok.If you have an eq and compressor on paralell compr channel, put these both on dry channel

if your in FL 10. use patcher, have one audio line going straight from "from FL studio" to the output, then another audio line from "from fl studio" to your compressor and squash the shit out of it, then play with the output of the copressor to the "output" in patcher.
