Post by wub » Thu Sep 08, 2011 9:01 am

...what tune would it be, and what would you do to it?

Sounds abit strange but I really like the vocals on this one -

Would love to make a really chilled out liquid-styled remix for this :W:

the first thing that comes to mind is remixing Alton Ellis - Cry Tough and making a steppers tune using the vocals and the choir from Cry Tough.

Not that hard to make but I think it would be cool!

'Phaeleh - Afterglow' summer garage vibe.

might even make a percy booty soon, just for giggles

My english teacher gave me a weird look when I mentioned that as the musical instrument I played. Like the wtf stare. I had to give her the 'wiki wiki' dj motion to confirm what i meant.

Coki - Haunted

I'd just change something a little bit. Doesn't even matter what as long as its noticeable. Do a cheeky little VIP.

I bootleg a lot, but if you mean officially remix a song, I would probably go with

EDIT*: Forgot to mention what I would do to it. I would probably do a lot of vocal chopping, the eery vocals are beautiful to me and would sound interesting with today's vocal editing techniques applied. I would probably keep the organ for the main chunk of the melody and use the piano sparsely. I would definitely want that huge uplifting bridge to keep the same feel, so those strings they already use are perfect the way they are. Using all that, I would make a very chilled dub song. Something along the lines of the relaxing section in Pacifica by Spor.

Any tune?...Cthulhu Sleeps by deadmau5 is just such a banger all the way through. His best track of last year, imo. I'd love to have a go at that thing no joke

It would have to be a banger of course and tbh it should be left alone! I couldnt make it better, it is what it is :)
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

Nutshell by alice in chains. His voice is haunting.

Though, I wouldn't trust myself with such a song.

Klute - Saviour

No idea what I'd do with it, but the sample/vox are just beautiful.

Aphex Twin - Window Licker.

I would re-record the vocals, and instead of going all distorted electro at the end I would go all distored brostep.

honorable mention;
Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body.
