Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
Had an amazing time at Outlook. Black Box boat party / Martyn / EL B / Icicle & Distance / ICU Audio / were some of my highlights. I can see why people are pissed off at the amount of people this year. Does make you ashamed of being British when you see the pure shit state the beautiful place was left in. Mountains of nos bulbs left all over the beach.
So disappointed with the lack of volume on DMZ's set. They did turn it up a lot more the next night but kinda lacked the power needed.
Dock stage had most of the best big acts yet I reckon they should have been in the fort instead. That system was hard (EM Acoustics MSE-118 'Quake' Subwoofer)

It was the perfect setting for it - sun setting, beach party closing. Really rounded off the festival for me, I was ready to head home to avoid anything disturbing the perfect vibes that day.phaeleh wrote:Thanks to the dsf crew who were rating my set! Was a lot of fun and I was never expecting such an epic crowd for it! Outlook ftw!
Would've liked a couple more tunes though

Re: BIG UP OUTLOOK FESTIVAL!!!
i had the pleasure of stage managing the ballroom this year and i have to say the whole management/artists liaison team worked so hard this year, i am extremely proud to have worked with such a great team, stressful at times but that's to be expected. big up everyone involved! highlight would be phonetics who played a wicked disco/techno/dub/dubstep set in the ballroom deffo worth looking into this guy! biome and riskotheque smashed it also.

Big up all the forum heads I spoke to when I was out there. Was nice to find some similar minded people for a change
Highlights for me:
1) The whole DMZ night - Loefah dropping System and Mala dropping Alicia
2) Vivek on the medi boat playing dub/reggae tunes
3) Jack Sparrow on the tectonic boat; some of the new bits are sensational
4) Kode 9 and Ikonika - The sub in the fort was exceptional
I can see why there are some negative vibes but I always expected there to be plenty of fanboys etc. The scene is too big now to expect that everyone out there is going to be a 'head'. The prospect of a music festival on the beach in beautiful sunshine will always bring more than just music lovers.

This is spot on. However, lets see what next year brings. I worry about them trying to expand the festival further as the facilities currently cannot handle the amount of people. With the scene going the way it is, it will only get bigger and inevitably more commercialAJP UK wrote: I'd be completely on starting up something for the underground artists, the ones actually representing dubstep and bass music in general. Outlook had some of these artists, fair play to them for doing their research, but i would be at the forefront of making some sort of festival/event which supports this where the bigger labels like DMZ, Swamp, Black Box, Hessle etc etc would headline, as well as the lesser known but equally brilliant labels like Sub Lab, Orientis, Mindstep, Loft Party, Area etc etc. Just dreams I guess.

Aye i'd be well on board to do this man, was thinking about this on the many flights home i had. It'll take alot of work but planning gradually would be a start. But lets hope outlook can provide another quality festivalAJP UK wrote:phytone wrote:I'd be completely on starting up something for the underground artists, the ones actually representing dubstep and bass music in general. I think there's a place for a a smaller bass music festival, which focuses on lesser known artists, with less big names. Would love to have the time and money to start something like this! Me and a friend had an annual micro-festival at our rented house in the country back in the day, but it fizzled out after we both moved out...Anyone with a bit of time and money should volunteer to start something in croatia, I reckon so many people would be willing to help out...I know I certainly would!Mr Hyde wrote:
