was in pre-cal ... senior year of high school. just so happened to be at the same time the AV club did the morning announcements for the entire school so we had the TV on anyway - they changed the closed circuit to the news and i watched both the second plane hit live and the towers fall live. teacher was trying to turn it off and get back to the lesson but that shit was not happening, haha. was wild...

On the Sarah Palin FB...
Ten years ago today, ordinary Americans went to work or boarded a plane and found themselves fighting on the frontlines of a battle they did not choose. They acquitted themselves with grace and courage, just as the thousands of men and women who enlisted to fight in our armed forces—many on the anniversaries of this day—in order to exact justice for their fellow Americans. We will never forget those who died ten years ago today, we will never forget those who died in the war that started on that day, and we ask God to comfort and bless their families. From across this great nation, grateful Americans honor those who defend our homeland. God bless America.

10 years ago today I was on my Nokia 3310 like a badman to my brother when it happened. He told me over the phone and I waited for the punchline; thinking he was joking.

Now ten years on they're still harping on about. Get the fuck over it you soft American shits and learn a bit of that British stiff upper lippness; treating a tragedy with dignified silence and respect... not a fucking media friendly soundbyte "9/11" and waving that shit flag of yours about like some fucking special needs kid on sports day.

Soul dead, what a tnuc.
I was in school, happened.
We never heard anything about it til we went home,
I understand it's terrible and people died. But it just seems like way more of a gimmick then anything.
Respect to the lives that were lost.

word. here its all over the media and i don't know anyone who isn't totally annoyed by it. hell im sure even the news announcers are annoyed by it

i mean ok, have a program about it, maybe a political discussion in a talkshow and a few articles in the papers. but there has been nothing but ZOMG 9/11 in the news for the last 3 days and i'm sick of it.

edit: just to clarify I'M NOT EVEN IN AMERICA GODDAMNIT.

Crazy how I remember that day like it happened yesterday..down to even waking up in the morning, what I was wearing etc. Once I got to school, I heard some ''rumours'' about a pilot who accidently flew his plane into the WTC. It took awhile to get some good information. The teacher turned on the TV for a bit, and a few minutes later we all watched the tower go down. After that the principal demanded that all the TV's be turned off which we were all pretty pissed off about. A lot of parents came to pick their kids up, mine included. Oh, and it was picture day, not a lot of smiles that year.

This Live track was played 24/7. I listen to it to pay my respects =/

What I resent most is how it's been used as a vehicle not just to erode civil liberties, wars and so on, but how it has become a cash cow for documentary makers. It's like the Daily Express' fascination with Dianna.

LET IT FUCKING GO!!! IT WAS TEN YEARS AGO.

But yeah, the American psyche and media are self perpetuating the "9/11" obsession.

Glad I visited the US in the June of that year. I don't fancy getting my balls scanned by the feds at JFK :6:
