A good friend of mine lives with one of the Modestap chaps and I played a show with them once. They do a fairly cool live show type thing. I'm not a huge fan of the music, its a little watered down after all but they're nice enough dudes who work hard and aren't 'douchey'.

If you had not put those last 3 words you would have had a decent post!

bth i think 16bit are pretty wank themselves. yesyes, chainsaw calligraphy i know. but still, i'd rather have eddie continue doing broken note. 100000 times better, but not as popular of course.

compare this:

to this:

n further explanation needed.

Chainsaw Calligraphy is a classic. 16bit have a sense of humor and the song is definitely a little tongue in cheek. It's definitely more creative than most aggressive dubstep that comes out these days.

I don't think it ever should have come out to be honest.. and could have done without the remixes.
Was pretty crazy first time I heard it in the dance.

jakes remix was definetly more legit than the original

Mmmm funny how quick we forget good artists like 16bit! They have some massive tunes, amazing producers, I dont think that is in question unless you have no idea how to produce and just say stupid comments cos your on a forum.. It happens but thats another thread tho...

FYI It was down to the venue for the LA gig pull out, they were there and in LA for quite a few days... I was playing at the Empire that day and they had arranged to move the gig there but pulled out and then moved the gig to Westminister (OC) for Tuesday (Same night I was playing there which was a lil gay, nice one management - two UK artist in the same US city on the same night...) which I think went on but wasnt busy at all...

I think some people just imagine Chainsaw Caligraphy is the product of them trying to produce something like Mala/KM/Burial, but they're just SO BAD at producing that it came out the way it did.

I don't think it's that so much. I'd make the following analogy:

A competitor in the X-Factor final. Can they sing? Probably. Probably pretty well. Some of them very well. Is the music they make good? No.

If you choose to take your talents and use them to make absolute waste then it doesn't really matter if you're Shakespeare does it?

Anyway I have no opinion on this thread or any of the artists contained within.

I just find it ridiculous how 16bit get written of as just brostep... do some bloody homework, there already been loads of their 'deeper' productions been linked in this thread, maybe go listen to a few before casting your judgement

not aiming that at anyone in particular, its just something i've noticed happens everytime they get mentioned, people just seem to go 'oh they did that chainsaw tune... they suck' and leave it at that rather than checking out some of the less aggy shit that they do

LMAO Aw mate thats so good I'm gonna have it as my FB status... Point blank Idiot!

Particle-jim its fucking sad right, the ammount of sheep here is stooooopid funny! Best bit is half the dj's they prob listen to support 16bit they just prob didnt notice cos its not their aggy shiz!

And on the point of their production skills, they are on point regardless of the style of music they choose to produce. How you could say something like that is so f'in funny cos it highlights your complete lack of knowledge about the subject your bitching about... Nice work!
