i thought the sound design in mass effect 2 was amazing, especially anything geth-related. I'm surprised i didnt see anything about mass effect on this thread yet actually, i remember seeing it pop up on the forums before.

Can you jack a whole Xbox or PlayStation game sound library like you can with PC video games? I remember with PC games you could just copy the sound folder and blam! Off to the races you went.

beat me to it. but

I think mass effect, dead space, crysis, have such amazing sound design. would love to see how they made sounds. For some reason the bad guys get the sickest fucking sounds ever xD

i never even thought about this. i have both mass effect games on my pc.

I just wanted to add that I am also impressed with the sound design in deus ex human revolution too (despite one cut scene that needed more twiddly transformer sounds).

How about the old Resident Evil games for the original PlayStation? Pretty nice for such a primitive system.

Going film wise,
Sunshine has one of the best sci -fi film score and sound design

Everything sounds real and haunting, yet loud, technical and eeiry!
