So, how's weekend production going so far? I'm delaying working on my project in lieu of some video game downtime...and also because I haven't figured out a hook for the track yet

I've been up till like 6 in the mornging the past few nights working on my latest. Super progressive IDM track, I'm so into it right now. I put a 80's blondie-ish part at the end that worked out perfectly. Oh my god I'm so excited to put this up.

Sometimes I just don't know, you know what I mean?

I had some stuff to work on, but I just saw Bassnectar live. Won't be easy working while my ears are ringing.

whats this about?

I'm spending another weekend trying to get the hang of percussion. made some progression last weekend with help from different tutorials etc. For some reason though, theres no way near as much information to get on percussion than any other part of music production. Which makes it an even bigger challenge.

KVR has an ongoing competition called the One Synth Challenge.
This months synth/weapon of choice is zebralette.
The entire track needs to be written with zebralette.
Everything.
The only external effects are things like compression, eq, etc.
Nothing that alters the sound beyond what zebralette is capable of producing.
That being said, zebralette is very powerful for it`s small size and it`s free.
Considering it`s wave shaping, morphing modes and mseg abilities.
Give it a try and take on the One Synth Challenge.

I sound like a OSC spokesperson.

I've got a Mastering retouch to do on a couple of tracks, Solstice and possibly Moving Day as still not entirely happy with it :? Thinking;

Parametric EQ2
Compressor
Multiband Compressor
Parametric EQ2 (cheers to Ledge for the tip re; topping & tailing on the EQs)
Limiter

Bounce the track out to WAV once the mixdown is sorted, then run it through the above and fiddle. See what happens.

Once that's out the way, going to get started on my own Sample Pack entry

got a nice idea so far, now i need to add a few more layers of pads, maybe one more rhythmical synth stab to switch up the groove and minimalize my percussion so not every hat layer is playing at once.

oh and i should sort my fucking chords out i think it's a bit off
