was it acetate or vinyl though? both my dubstudio and transition 10s have been chunky as. seeing as theyre metal plates and all. can imagine a vinyl 10 would be like mixing a CD though

Probably vinyl to be fair - it was years back and I was broke as a mo-fo haha.
Still; 12" all the way!

10"s all the way, no point in cutting 12"s unless you make loads of 9 minute long tracks.
Got sent a load of 12" dubs the other day cos they'd run out of 10" blanks. Big disappointment. 10"s are easier to mix too.

I wouldn't say they're easier but I dont think they're harder than 12's like some people say

Neither are harder or easier to mix than the other. It just depends on what you're used to.

i'm curious...how long does an acetate cut last? i hear people saying they have a limited number of plays and to set the tonearm weight lighter. how many plays can you actually get out of the record before the groove is too worn?

I still have plates that I got cut 6 or 7 years ago now and they still sound fine. In saying that I play them very rarely and take good care of them.
+1 for 10" cuts as well

Even at 33, thats gotta be pushing under 4 minutes for wide-groove music like edm, right? jesus.
If they're cheap Id actually kinda be all over that for scratch records and short-ish dnb tunes.
