Is it due to label obligations that producers add vocals to an already established tune when they do an album? I just find that most of the time the song gets over congested with bullshit vocals when this happens, ruining the tune. I could list examples, but I'm not really trying to hate on anyone, just a question.

and yes, I know that producers don't just make songs for me specifically to enjoy, save your breath dsf mods

I reckon it's either the artist wanting to make their track into a more listenable experience to the masses without selling out. Or, the label wanting the track to sell better.

Yeah I can definitely see that for hip hop & R&B, but there is so much going on in these tracks to keep the listener interested [if you're listening to the right tunes that is]. In fact that's what I've always liked about it, the music speaks for itself without the need for a vocal. It's rare that anything beyond the 90's impresses me [vocal wise] that's why I got into this kind of music. It just bothers me when a really good piece of work gets dumbed down with a club vocal saying absolutely nothing [seemingly whenever the artist signs the tune to a label outside of the normal dubstep spectrum]

Also these UK male vocalist really know how to gay up a song [youngman, example, etc.]... How does one listen to this without feeling like a 12 year old girl? Even worse than when the hip hop guys over here in the US try to sing their hooks...

I don't think there's a rule here. I personally enjoy a lot of "regular", vocal music. If it's done right, it improves the song by a 1000%. And the other way around.

In France, a vocal is also important to attract people. But the point is that in 99.9% of the tracks with vocals, even made by French guys are in English... Why? Because hearing a voice is enough, people do not care if they do not understand, it's just to hear a voice... If it's in French, we understand what's said, and people think, and then go like "that's sh*t lyrics!"... but when it's in English, in an electro-house club, and there are in 9 out of 10 songs with "dance on the floor!", or "clap your hands"/"put your hands in the air" or "move your body!" (and bonus: "EVERYBODYYYYYYYYYYYY!")... well, people don't care!

im well past vocals unless they actually have some kind of relevance, in most mainstream music they're just there for the sake of it. i also listen to quite a bit of post-rock and a band like 65daysofstatic are just incredible musicians but loads of my mates who listen to rock music just write them off because there's 'no words', surely it shows that they're better because they can make a really good song without any need for lyrics/conventional structure

I personally love some good vocals in dubstep, especially with Joker, Breakage, Phaeleh and Skream. Yes, I by far prefer the vocal version of The Vision to the instrumental. Obviously it doesn't make every tune better, but I think there's plenty of perfectly justified vocal versions that aren't just sell-outs.

I mean look at those awesome moments when Coki cuts the music and the crowd sings "Marrow will fly-y-y into the sky!" in Gangsta for Life... doesn't hurt to have something else to bring people together like that and make the tune more memorable
